One of the better latter-day Alex de Renzy efforts, GIRLFRIENDS is surprisingly not an all-girl Lesbian extravaganza, but rather a light-hearted collection of straight porn vignettes.
Gimmick here is to use international talent including fresh faces (and figures) from Italy and Germany, but oddly they are uncredited. So instead of launching careers, the film (and it was beautifully shot on film) is more of a dead end for them.
The German girls highlight the opening segment, even singing "Falling in Love Again" in the original German. Picture's "money" vignette follows, in the form of a national "Suck-Off" competition hosted wryly by Jamie Gillis, pitting Tara Aire against Genoa. It's a good mix of sexy and the comedic.
John Leslie has a sensual encounter while shopping with saleslady Rita Ricardo next up. The best realized segment follows spotlighting uninhibited Janey Robbins outfitted in S&M gear, taking on three guys at once. Her fans will certainly enjoy this vintage showcase of her talents.
Two unidentified Italian girls, both lovely, take center-stage next. Finale has some cute gags, as Ron Jeremy sits in a waiting room, and gets it on with Lili Marlene. There's an element of bait & switch here, as two buxom beauties in the waiting room make merely token cameo appearances, leaving early without disrobing or joining in on the sex.
