Although bad - it kept me laughing

Warning: Spoilers
This movie left us speechless.

The first half of this movie had potential. Interesting character development which kept our interest. From that half way point on, though, things went, shall we say, down hill.

Perhaps the best way to describe this would be to describe the audience reaction - the entire audience ended up in tears - tears of laughter.

For some reason our outback hero was visited by a gorgeous woman, who ended up "showing her gratitude" by having sex on everything stable all over the whole farm.

I can not reveal what happens next without it being classed as a "spoiler" - but it goes completely off in another direction - a BAD direction.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, without reaching the classic status of something like "Plan 9 from Outer Space".

Don't bother watching this unless you plan to laugh at it with your friends.

Better buy a Porn Movie
hothelen8 December 2016
This was the worst movie I've ever seen. Please don't waste your time. The acting was just so terrible at times I would sit and laugh so hard I thought I would self combust. The sex scenes where mild but my favourite scene was watching Laura touch herself in the bathroom, later staring into the mirror with pure pleasure. Laura goes on to touch herself in anticipation of what will happen with her lover. However, most scenes were slow with not much of a story line. The only thing to save this movie was the little hot blonde actress but then again if you just want to see sex watch a real porn movie and not this pretend stuff. I don't think you will be able to find this movie anyway as I have it as an old VHS copy! The movie is now over 20 years old and has aged badly - probably just like it's actors!

Surprisingly surprising

Hurrah is the story of a man, Raoul, who leaves behind city life and to an extent civilization after the death of his life time love Mazzy. With all the money Raoul has from the insurance pay out from Mazzy's death Raoul purchases an abandonded outback property in the Northern Territory of Australia. For over a year Raoul lives in seclusion with only occasional human contact from the friendly local hermit Yakel and the untrusting townsfolk were Raoul buys his food and water. Raoul's only friends apart from Yakel appear to be his pet dog and a donkey which wanders Raoul's property. One day Raoul sees a mysterious woman in red walking up his 2 kilometer long drive way from the road to his house. The woman, Laura, has crashed her car into Raoul's fence. Raoul offers Laura a room for the night and says he will fix her car. That night Raoul and Laura tell each other their reasons for escaping the world, Raoul because of Mazzy and Laura because of her two failed relationships with different men at the same time. At this point in the film it becomes quite obvious that the story has changed from one man's journey into madness to a love story between Raoul and Laura. Laura leaves the next day and then returns later wanting to stay with Raoul and hide from the two men who she fears are trying to find her.

Will Laura's trackers find her? Will Raoul be able to choose between Laura and the memory of Mazzy? Or is everything just a hallucination in Raoul's mind?

The ending surprised me a little, not because it was particularly new or inventive but just because watching what I thought would end up being a typical love story didn't finish in a typical way.

This is definitely enjoyable if you can find a copy, although I imagine it would be hard outside of Australia.

Great Outback Aussie Struggle of Life Story
Andypoo2 May 2000
Marton Csokas makes a great performance as Raoul. A man who has had his life turned upside down by the death of his fiance. Running away from life, he finds himself in an old country house in outback Australia where he begins to live out his life in solitude, with only a hermit for a neighbour, 5km away.

This is a great love story. Perhaps the love scenes were a bit much, but that's just me :)

If you are a fan of movies and like a good love story, you'll love this movie.
