This is one of several Charles Mintz cartoons distributed by Columbia Pictures that was farmed out to Ub Iwerks' studio since that animation production house was in financial trouble. The title character is tired of being just on a moving circular ride day after day so he decides to check other amusement rides on his own at night when the place is closed. Quite a few atmospheric shocks abound with a score that can be part cheery/part haunting. There's also some point-of-view shots from a roller coaster that might have made some heads in the audience dizzy not unlike my experience of watching the dogfight scene from Star Wars in a theatre when I was 10. There's also a notable cameo appearance by Mintz' Scrappy and an unfortunate one of a caricatured African-American face with the white lips. Other than that, I recommend The Horse on the Merry-Go-Round for animation buffs especially of Iwerks' work.
