This forgotten Fred Lincoln feature showcases Julia Ann at her most vivacious and humorous. Displaying an unexpected facility for slapstick comedy the timeless beauty of Adult Cinema is terrific as a clumsy detective on a particularly dumb case.
Premise, which unfortunately did not give rise to a series, has her as the front lady for Pink Ladies Detective Agency, a low-rent outfit founded by Marc Wallice. Because of its cute moniker he needed to hire a femme to run things, and even before this episode is done he is trying to replace her (fortunately, Julia gets the last laugh, literally).
A blonde actress I didn't recognize plays Alicia, hiring the firm to track down a mysterious blackmailer of her lovely blonde sister, played by superstar of the moment Sunset Thomas. Sunset is a call girl, and Julia goes undercover impersonating a high-priced prostitute, much to the fans' delight.
Resolution of the mystery is far less exciting than a below-average "Perry Mason" episode, and Wallice detracts from the show's entertainment value by his mere presence. Fortunately, Julia Ann is hot- hot-hot and various supporting femmes also hump excitingly, notably a young and beauteous redhead Brittany O'Connell (like Julia, destined to have a second career as a MILF as she aged nicely).
Julia's pratfalls are fun, and the final scene with its surprise gag is priceless. A similar cast was employed by Lincoln and his better half Patti Rhodes the year before for "Flashback", but that stinker sank like a stone, not having a Julia Ann to save it.
