Visual Puns
boblipton17 July 2021
Like most of the Famous Studios Scree Songs (floreat 1947-1952), this one consists of four minutes of joked-filled nonsense, followed by the song of the short. Here, almost all of the jokes are visual puns of one sort or another, resulting in a very childish sort of fun.

This is followed by a couple of minutes in which we get verse and chorus of "M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I", which I learned a decade after this cartoon came out. It was first heard at the Ziegfeld Midnight Frolic in 1916, and there was a popular recording of it by Red Foley a couple of years before this cartoon came out.
