Misfire
boblipton19 February 2014
A young boy invents a hair-growing formula, but when he takes it to a patent attorney, he gets thrown out. However, when the attorney discovers he now has a full head of hair, he goes after the discouraged boy genius and his friend.

Howard Post, who supervised Jack Mendelsohn's wacky cartoons in this period, directed this and it's pretty much a misfire. Except for one "shaken frame" shot at the beginning, there is little of visual interest and the low-affect way that the characters are handled makes it unclear what, if any point there is to this cartoon, except its barebones plot. Perhaps Post should have let Mendelsohn direct as well as write this one.
