Excellent porn, taking off from "Blade Runner"
lor_8 February 2019
Ridley Scott's sci-fi/noir "Blade Runner" has had considerable influence via its futuristic visual style, but the talented Adult Cinema team of writer George Kaplan and director Jim Enright take an entirely different take on the central premise with this well-made early release from Wicked Pictures.

Red Moran is a private eye hired by Lulu (interesting performer Juliette Carelton/Angela Cornell) to protect her from mobster/smuggler Al Luciano, an offbeat role for stud Peter North. Story is set in a distant future, when androids are part of society, but working on the usual minuscule porn budget Enright avoids flashy props or special effects in favor of solid storytelling.

The issue of "is he or isn't he" that propels most tales about robots, cyborgs or androids is central here, and well-developed in Kaplan's script. Our hero's world-weary voice-over narration sustains the proper film noir mood, and acting down the line is quite good.

Talented Adult Cinema actor James Bonn is in the lead role, credited with his familiar pseudonym James West (taken from the classic Robert Conrad TV Western series).
