Range Renegades, released in June 1948 was Jennifer Holt's last b western. She would go on to appear in early television as co-star of the Panhandle Pete and Jennifer Show. In this film, she plays the outlaw leader of a gang who attempts to deceive the young deputy son of the sheriff. This was her second appearance as an outlaw villianess, appearing as The Hawk of Power River with Eddie Dean that same year. Notice in one of the early scenes when she asks a henchman to set the dynamite in a mine disaster. She says "I'll watch the road." When you see her again, dressed in a long riding dress, she has already mounted the horse. She always said that she enjoyed playing the villianess better because she could get rid of all of her frustrations of playing the lily white heroine. When Jennifer is good, she is very good. But when she is bad, she is better. Although not one of her better films, it was a suitable close to a 7 year career.
