Sheriff Andy Rides Again
horn-526 June 2006
Andy Clyde is the sheriff of a small hick-town, and is being opposed in an up-coming election by his rival-and-enemy Bob McKenzie for the office. Dorothy Granger makes a busty entrance as a con-woman posing as a G-Woman, and beats McKenzie out of a thousand dollars, and escapes in a car with an accomplice. Sheriff Andy and McKenzie pursue and capture them as the get-away car crashes into the bedroom window of a farmhouse.

A Jules White production directed by Charles Lamont, and one of the few 1930s Andy Clyde shorts that wasn't remade in the 40s or 50s. Maybe because, to misquote "Variety"...Hix in Stix Nix Pix about Hix in Stix. And, maybe not. Columbia may have just overlooked remaking it.
