Unsophisticated farce

Leslie Fuller is a totally forgotten comedy actor who made 20 films before his untimely death at the age of 57.In this film he plays identical twins. One is a policeman who would prefer to work in a circus whilst the other is a farm hand who wants to be a policeman but cannot pass the entry exam.So one twin goes off to the circus whilst the other takes his place in the police force. There is a lot of changing of the two between the force and the circus. The exam scene for entry to the police force contains the few laughs. He is asked what is a herbaceous border, his answer being a vegetarian lodger.Otherwise all this film illustrates is how much comedy has changed since the film was made.So by and large you have to be in a very uncritical mood watching this.
