Replacing Tiswas (in the TVS area only), Ethel Davis opens the door to No 73 for the first time. Since she hates making sandwiches for all the guests, she tricks some of the guests into playing 'The Sandwich Game'.
The Secret Admirer who's been sending in caricatures over the past few weeks has now posted himself in a Red Star parcel and turns out to be Neil Buchanan (making his first appearance at No 73).
The council has decided to widen the road and tear down No 73 to make the A-73. Several shady characters, mistakenly thought to be decorators, are already measuring the house.
Dawn has had another late night out with another new boyfriend and gets annoyed with all the noise Percy makes. Wes brings over his newly designed No 73 teapot for Ethel.
Percy and Dawn are at TVS's Gillingham studio, where David Jensen shows how to handle a barbecue. Ethel, Harry and Neil keep track on the microwave television, but can't smell it, as Percy hasn't installed his Smell-a-Rama device yet.
Harry has met Kim Goody at a disco and invited her over to meet the gang at 73. Ethel pretends to give Dexys Midnight Runners some record producing advice.
The gang take part in an Irish caley, Ethel visits a lighthouse and Percy celebrates his birthday by facing off against Ultra the Amazing Android in the Sandwich Quiz.
Hazel is looking after the house (with Martin very suspicious and nosy) while Ethel and the gang are out and about on a 'luxury country house mystery tour' organized by Tony Deal.
Harry wants to become Tenpole Tudor's tour manager and shows them a film of his visit to the TS Royalist with the Sea Cadet Corps. He and Dawn also go bread shopping in Calais while The Great Soprendo attempts to teach Ethel some magic.
Ethel thinks musical guests The Firm have come to redecorate the lounge. Jenny Lee Wright competes with nosy neighbour Martin Edwards in the Sandwich Quiz.
