Christopher Vilma tandem at one of its best
Sirfaro1122 July 2013
This is the last tandem of Christopher De Leon & Vilma Santos before the 80''s decade ended and it certainly ended with a memorable movie Immortal. Eddie Garcia did a marvelous job chronicling the love story of Nic and Sandra. Against all odds, against all time, the two lovers moved heaven and earth to be together, but sadly, it was not (yet) meant to be. The twist and turn of the story leave you wondering how they will get back together until the finale scene rolled in.

The Basil Valdez theme song is haunting and placed the movie in its mood. The script by Nadres is nearly flawless with its right timing of comic relief (bakit Hindi ka doctor?). The make up and the wigs are sometimes distracting but they can be forgiven. Christopher de Leon's face did not change from the time he was a medical student until years after. They could have made him younger, for example, by removing his mustache when he was still in med school.

Finally I must say I miss these movies by Viva, the decades after had fewer ambitious movies like this one. No one really replaced the great Christopher-Vilma team up in the new generation.
