Early Chinese film on more serious topic with OK box office performance
zzmale2 January 2004
The literal translation of the title of this film is: Benevolent Mother.

This attempt of early Chinese films on more serious topic actually did OK in box office, due to the same reason films of the same era on serious topic failed: War. This movie about the love and caring of family and maternal love echoed in the audience hearts in times of war.
