The irritable relationship between lodger and landlady. This was an early TV attempt to make Patricia Hayes and Dandy Nichols into a double act.Originally a hit comedy from radio, one of the awkward things about this TV sitcom was, that it had no laughter track. Not unusual now, but was part of the ambiance in 1971. Months in the can, shown in the summer and quickly forgotten. May have just not been funny? or may have been a victim of LWT'S crisis of confidence ? which at the time had programmes like 'Upstairs Downstairs ' premiering after ten on a Sunday Night. Dandy Nichols and Patricia Hayes eventually succeeded as a double act for the BBC,with their funny interpretations of Parliament tea ladies.
