Very interesting story idea

The acting was outstanding for a movie of this budget genre. Both main actors really made their characters believable, especially the young and lovely Ingrid Sthare. I especially liked her line when she said, "You're a professional whiner." I can't wait to see more of her.

And highly recommended at that...

NNBR is a very well-written and portrayed representation of 'industry frustration'. Falk creates an environment where these tensions come to a head, allowing us a small peek into the often misunderstood perspectives of the supposedly glamorous world of entertainment.

Instead of a typical self-important starlet, Sthare offers us the viewpoint of the struggling actor/writer that has put everything into her work, and who demands a fair break. Through the use of excellent comic timing and an extremely realistic portrayal of righteous indignation she makes us truly understand what one must go through in order to attain just a glimmer of recognition in a jaded city.

Burdick actually gives us the chance to feel sorry for a critic...for a few minutes. He does a wonderful job oscillating between his desire to explain the mysterious motives behind a critic's review and his equally powerful (if not more powerful) cravings to be with Ms. Bingham.

In short, NNBR is a refreshing, witty-yet-intense short film that says a great deal about the wants and needs of those forced to wallow in the mire known as the entertainment business.

this is a thoughtful look at the uneasy balance between makers of art and critics of art. the acting is quite good but the writing is just wonderful. i hear that it was from an original play by faulk(?) and i'll be looking for more of his work on the to make it to the screen. kudos.
