- The Mystic Book and the National Scar moving book monsters can be seen showing a random brief picture of a naked woman lying down on her stomach. It's unknown how this got past the Nintendo censorship.
Violence & Gore

- The Boy, Girl, Sprite characters can be seen, by getting burned by a fire, blown up by a fire bomb, or poisoned, or having the grim reaper kill them. Also the monsters can be seen knocking the Boy, Girl, Sprite down, or getting eaten by the tiger if they aren't wearing armor or gauntlets or helmets.
- The Boy, Girl, Sprite characters can be seen beating up monsters and killing them, by having them splatter blood, explode, having the monster skeleton show, or fade away. Many of the boss battles has the boss monster explode before they die.
- The treasure traps can hurt your characters with a time bomb, boxing gloves, poison needles, a Mimic monster beating them up, and the grim reaper reducing your HP down to 1.
- If your 3 characters fail to kill the wall, then they will get crushed to death.
- The vampire can be seen killing the Girl character but she later gets brought back to life.

- Uses of idiot . Although the game uses the word "Gods, 1 line in particular they angered the Gods " in the opening of the game.

- The opening music of Secret of Mana may be a little scary for little kids.
- The boy can be seen falling off the log bridge at the waterfall.
- An earthquake at Potos village causes the boy and Elliot to fall in the pit.
- The sunken continent rising and sinking may be a little scary for little kids.
- A scene with the Mana Tree can be seen getting destroyed by the beam.
- A devilish boss named Dark Lich may be scary for little kids.
- The Mana Fortress can be seen under attack and the final boss Mana Beast can be a little scary for little kids.
- Recommend ESRB rating: Rated T for fantasy violence, comic mischief, and brief nudity.

- Emperor Vandole can be seen dead at the Great Palace.
- Dyluck gets possessed by Thanatos but he resists him and he dies afterwards.
- Sprite after killing the Mana Beast also dies.
