Racing at Sheepshead Bay (1897)
This Edison film has the camera set up by a race track as we catch a race in action. We see around eight horses come passing by and after a few seconds we then see a very slow horse. In a rather uncommon move from a film of this ear, we then get an edit to where we then see footage of the aftermath of the race. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking here but if you enjoy these older movies then this one here is at least entertaining. I was surprised to see the edit as this really wasn't done too often back during this period. That certainly makes this stand out among the dozens of horse racing films that were made.
