TV actor Rituraj Singh passed away at the age of the 59 on Tuesday, after a cardiac arrest following a bout of pancreatic disease. The actor known for his vast roles was suffering from pancreatic disease and was hospitalised.
While he was discharged, his health condition deteriorated on Monday night, and suffered a heart attack.
“Pancreatic diseases, which include pancreatic inflammation or swelling, which is referred to as pancreatitis or pancreatic malignancies or cancers, have increased exponentially during current times. We come across many high profile cases who are suffering from pancreatic problems and such disorders can lead to mortality or death over a variable duration,” Dr. Piyush Gupta, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Endoscopy, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, told Ians.
Pancreatitis is the redness and swelling (inflammation) of the pancreas. This happens when digestive juices or enzymes attack the pancreas.
The pancreas lies behind your stomach on the left side of your belly.

Bollywood celebrities have expressed grief on the demise of senior actor Rituraj Singh, who passed away at the age of 59 in the wee hours of Tuesday, due to cardiac arrest. With a career spanning over three decades, Rituraj was known for his work in shows like ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Tehkikaat’, ‘Kutumb’, ‘Jyoti’, ‘Beintehaa’, and most recent ‘Anupamaa’.

Mumbai, Feb 20 (Ians) TV actor Rituraj Singh passed away at the age of the 59 in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The actor was discharged from the hospital after he was admitted following stomach infection. But, his health condition deteriorated last night, and suffered a heart attack.
Actor Amit Behl told Ians: “Rituraj was admitted in the hospital and was discharged. Last night at 12.30 a.m. he got a cardiac arrest.”
“He was admitted in the hospital for a stomach infection,” the actor said.
Asked about the cremation, Amit categorically said, “I have no details about his cremation.”
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi expressed grief over the death of Rituraj.
In a post on X, Arshad wrote, “I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building, he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor…...

New Delhi, Sep 10 (Ians) Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who is on a visit to UK, shared a sweet anecdote of an interaction with the immigration officer in London, and how the latter congratulated him for India’s ‘Chandrayaan-3’ success.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the ‘Mr India’ director shared a picture of his Indian passport.
Along with that, he wrote: “The question today from the immigration officer in London was not ‘How long are you staying , Sir’.. but ‘Congratulations Sir, on your ‘Moon Landing’. .. #passport”.
Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) has recently achieved the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the Moon.
