The movie centres around RCMP Corporal Michelle Kenidi who is caught in a difficult situation when she is forced to choose between her loyalty towards her career as an RCMP officer and her relationship with her older brother Peter when he is being investigated for arson of the Noda Deh Lodge and of the murder of accountant Ray Dexter.
Trial by fire is an excellent film that reunites most of the original cast of the popular CBC drama North Of 60 and also stars Graham Greene and Yvan Ponton who portray Walter Pierce and Inspector Andre Cormier respectively.
