Classic worth revisiting
jessicarabbit-130 December 2004
I have always liked Anveshana.

Its a lovely atmospheric movie with a layered story. The characters are well sketched, each with a distinct personality and role. The creep factor builds up and keeps you guessing till the end.

I must add, the shrill screaming got on my nerves after a bit and I did find it cheesy in places but for its time, it is a slick, well shot film.

The soundtrack is beautiful and Bhanupriya looks her best here. Watched this childhood favorite again recently and decided to send this reminder out.

It stands out in a genre full of painfully bad movies.

An absolute original masterpiece
vnshashidharrao13 July 2014
This movie is an original master piece , i had read a review earlier that this is remake of Hindi movie beshaque, no resemblance in the theme or the plot or the overall treatment except that the backdrop of both the movies is forest.

But good thing got to watch this movie beshaque, which also is a good movie, All in all, ANWESHANA is a probably only of its kind movie not just in Telugu, this is a complete thriller with the most unexpected twist and climax, total treatment of the movie, beautifully shot, a technical masterpiece, great movie for movie watchers and aspiring film makers

copy of Hindi movie Be-Shaque
jagan200414 April 2009
Hi, I was watching set-max other day and saw a Hindi movie called "Be- Shaque" starring Mithun Chakravarthy, Yogita Bali, Shakti Kapoor etc., directed by Kashinath (from Karnataka) released in 1981. As I was watching, I immediately knew it was same as Anveshana. And then I checked for the year it was released to know which movie came first and Be-Shaque came in 1981, while Anveshana released in 1985. Though Anveshana was a gr8 movie, with gr8 music by Ilayaraja, after watching this Hindi movie, I lost my impression on the same as the story is a complete copy of the Hindi movie except that it is slightly modified and better locations to suit the story. the same can be verified in this IMDb site itself (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219317/).
