You're Growing Up (1956)

** (out of 4)

Bland educational short talks about the four stages that a person goes through in their life as they grow. We see examples of ages 1-4, 6-11, 11-15 and then 16-20. These examples include not being able to use her muscles as a baby, started to get chubby as a teen, learning to control your anger and of course learning to deal with pimples, shaving and your breasts not growing. This short features examples from both sexes and it's pretty straight and down the middle in terms of just wanting to give off knowledge and nothing else. That's fine and dandy but most people come to these educational shorts looking for the ones that are silly, campy and over-the-top. That's not this one so you really don't get any laughable moments, which is one reason the ten-minute running time seems to drag by. It is interesting watching a film like this and getting the education that they gave people back then compared to what we're taught today. With that said, this here is going to be for those who must see every educational picture out there.
