A military veteran and non veteran will view it differently.
yenlo3 May 2001
For any one who has ever gone through military basic training this reality game show similar to CBS's `Survivor' is certainly looked upon differently from those that have never experienced BOOTCAMP. The contestants (none of whom have any prior Armed Forces experience)are placed into a military basic training environment with professionally trained USMC Drill Instructors complete with `Smokey' cover whose job is to train and develop the "Recruits" into smartly disciplined, physically fit, basically trained military individuals. Additionally as the recruits endure the rigors of basic training the game amongst themselves is being played as to which recruit will be voted out of the squad and who they will choose to take with them (The shows own unique twist to the elimination process) with the final winning recruit taking home the half million-dollar prize. Missions with a military theme are assigned to them as a group and if completed successfully the recruits are rewarded, if the mission is a failure then the D.I.'s provide other rewards. Unlike Survivor the recruits are given three square meals a day and housing albeit Spartan so hunger, cold wet sleeping conditions and personal hygiene are not a factor. `BOOTCAMP's biggest problem is that it rode in on the wave of reality game shows created by the success of SURVIVOR. Also in todays Politically Correct, Touchy, Feely, Hugs and Kisses, Candy A** society the stern D.I.'s may be a turn off to viewers. On the other hand had BOOTCAMP been the first in these reality game shows IT might have been the show everyone would be talking about.

A great reality show that didn't get enough attention
kurisu-717-13712819 April 2010
"Boot Camp" was a much better reality show than the attention it received, which was scant. I was so disappointed that it didn't get good ratings and hope that perhaps now, years after we've had a flood of horrible reality shows, it might get another turn.

The premise behind "Boot Camp" was to take ordinary people and put them in a Marine boot camp. This was refreshing to me because most reality shows have people playing silly games (puzzles, obstacle courses, races, etc), but this one had people in a real US military boot camp. If you didn't have an appreciation for US soldiers before "Boot Camp", you certainly would after watching it.

This series eventually got me hooked on "Survivor", but it was "Boot Camp" that really got me watching reality shows.

Boot camp rocked for one of the better.

I am now 18 years old and boy I remember this show. It was an excellent show with well done acting. Show like this impressed me and still do. 16 Contestants go through military training to physical fitness to being yelled at by the instructors. I would love to just see another boot camp show like this. I it was incredible to see the girls being yelled by the instructors this is what a lot of men look for in a show. I liked the ending of the show for me it was a bit of a happy ending seeing the contestant win. I still remember her name even though this was when I was eleven years old. I still thinks of this show. Shows like this are worth seeing. I want to see more of this show please put another one on I love it so much.

One of the better reality shows
csweetleaf221 June 2003
I think that this show was one of the better reality shows compared to the overrated American Idol, Survivor, Fear and Temptation Island and I think that Boot Camp should come back for another season, I think that Survivor and the aforementioned shows stink cause they don't make good television shows anymore like they used to and I also wish that one of the contestants Meyer got to on the show for a little longer than he did cause he was the that made the show fun. 9/10 with Meyer, 8/10 without Meyer.

Watch it if you think you can handle the challenges of Boot Camp!!
ceiny20008 May 2001
Boot Camp is one of the newest type of game shows that has been broadcasted in England. This game show which a horrible twist is basically that 16 members of the general public go through very tough training and finaly they make it to Boot Camp. Then only trouble is that the D.I's that are constantly on your back 24 hours a day!! WARNING: The D.I's are not actors and they WILL treat you as if they are still in the army. The contestants have to nominate a new squad leader each week and complete a task, if they win a nice treat is awarded to the contestants (a picture of thier loved ones) and if they fail the D.I's have a little treat for themselves to punish the living c**p out of you...but hey you win some you loose some!! At the end of each episode the team nominate a member who they would like to see gone from Boot Camp and the ultimate revenge approaches now. The nominated member can also drag another contestant with them for any reason from "I dont like thier hair colour" to "I dont think they work well in a team". If you enjoy people from the public being shouted at 24 hours a day then I recommend this for you...ENJOY!!!

Boot Camp... a mockery.
mtf1330 September 2002
When I first heard about this show, I was sort of excited because my brother went through boot camp and told me everything about it. Now, the show itself was rather good, but the end result was just terrible. That girl should not have won. That is a mockery to the army. My brother is also a friend of Ryan Wolf and I've met him once. From the beginning, Wolf was the best person on the show. He won 6/7 of the challenges, which made it go to a vote. If only he would have won all 7, then I would not be writing this today. If they were to make a 2nd Boot Camp, I'd watch it.
