The Pretty Girl is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen, and easily one of the greatest shorts of all time. Using the style of La Jetee, Bechard captures the heartbreak of being hated for something you cannot control. In this case, a girl is singled out for her beauty by the other women in town who are jealous of the effect she has on their men. The ending startles, and will stay with you forever. A masterpiece.

Very good short film

The pretty girl is a poem/story with a highly dramatic emphasis. In my opinion the photography is very good and the story is very simple but has an open end which makes you think and imagine the explanations why it ended that way. I recommend you to see it.

Gorman Bechard directed this seven-minute short film that has a pretty girl wondering why men don't react to her like they used to. Through a narrator and images, we hear how this pretty girl is used to getting looks, whistles and free stuff but soon it all goes away. I'm not going to spoil anything here, which is what I'd have to do in order to fully get into the film. I'm going to avoid all of that but I will say that this was a pleasant surprise and a film that's certainly worth watching. The message in the picture is quite clear and I must admit that I really liked the twist. Bechard's style with this short was an interesting one and I enjoy how he used still images for the visuals and let the narrator basically tell a story.
