Jeanne Carmen ran away from poverty in rural Arkansas when she was only 13 years old. Even at that age, she was mature beyond her years not only physically but emotionally. Most 13 year old girls would not have had as much success as Jeannie did. Anyway, Jeannie went to New York City and later Hollywood where she starred in forgettable B movies but who could forget Jeannie. She befriended another blonde bombshell actress better known as Marilyn Monroe. It was that friendship that was cemented by honesty, candidness, and trustworthy. Both women were gorgeous together and Jeannie still is. She knew all of Marilyn's secrets and relationships. That's how I got to know Jeannie Carmen, she was Marilyn Monroe's best female friend. After Monroe's death which Jeannie holds her own suspicions about what actually happened even to this day that it was no accidental but doesn't go into detail. What happened to Jeannie Carmen? She should write an autobiography but she hasn't. Jeannie was chased out of Hollywood after Monroe's death whether by the Mafia or the Feds. Whatever the reason, Jeannie ended up in Scottsdale, Arizona abandoning a promising acting career behind. Anyway, she married a man and settled into domestic life with three children. She got divorced and only resurfaced in the 1980s revealing that she was friends with Marilyn. Some might say why do a special on Jeannie Carmen. But since the show debuted in 1996, they have featured some other outlandish episodes. I much prefer this over other episodes. Even now, Jeannie has a following among B movie fans. Most of those involved in Marilyn's death and cover-up have either died or gone away, we might ask what might have been if Jeannie was allowed to have her film career. She still has great voice and looks better than most women who are half her age.
