Jimmy Fallon is taking the night off.
A rep for NBC tells Et that Friday's taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has been canceled "due to a private Fallon family matter." Instead, a repeat of Sept. 25's episode with Madonna and Camila Cabello will air.
A source tells Et that the late night host's mother, Gloria, is sick and in the hospital.
"Jimmy comes from a very close-knit family, and together with the rest of his loved ones, they are by her side right now," the source explained.

Justin Timberlake’s bestie Jimmy Fallon wasn’t afraid to spill the tea during his Thursday appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Fallon played a game of “Plead the Fifth” where host Andy Cohen quickly asked him about an important year – 2002.
That was both the year that he became friends with Timberlake and the year that Timberlake and Britney Spears split.
Fallon confirmed that his pal did tell him why they broke up and added that Spears’ name will occasionally come up in conversation with Timberlake.
He also added, “We used to hang out all the time with Britney as well. That’s how we met each other on Saturday Night Live. I remember going to a Super Bowl party at Planet Hollywood that Britney and Justin were having. It was just really fun.”

The sixth episode of “Better Things” Season 2 is one of television’s best — not just of the year, but of the golden age and beyond.
Titled “Eulogy” and dedicated to the late Robert Michael Morris, who makes a brief cameo, the episode is intent on appreciating the consummate reality of everyday life while you’re living it. The season is, too. “Better Things” is a challenging, deeply rewarding, and ultimately miraculous experience because of how it draws extra attention to what matters and curtly dismisses what doesn’t. Both elements are typically communicated via frank remarks either profoundly moving or very, very funny (sometimes both) and each episode captures Pamela Adlon’s unique blend of stubborn — and often inappropriate — love in such a way you’ll wish more people acted as brashly genuine as she does. Hell, you may even start acting that way yourself.

If you live in the world long enough — really out there, l-i-v-i-n, as they say — you’ll find the truth. That, or the truth will find you.
Pamela Adlon has been livin’ in the proper sense for some time now. An Emmy-nominated writer and producer of “Louie” and a beloved character actress from long-running series like “Californication” and “King of the Hill” (yup, she’s Bobby Hill), Adlon built a career many would envy. From that experience, “Better Things” was built; Adlon’s first starring role in her own series (co-created with Louis C.K.), her voice sounded out loud and clear from the start.
She found the truth of the world, crafting episodes about teens acknowledging their sexuality and her mother’s casual racism. Adlon pushed back against sleazy Hollywood sexism and the patriarchy in general. She took the stage — literally — to sound off on how the shared burden of...

Mother’s Mercy. Just some gut reactions to the season 5 finale to Game of Thrones. I realize the internet broke with analysis from both people with early access to the show and events of the finale from day one, and I imagine there are a bunch of pieces on fan sites with great takes with book knowledge. I have close to decades of book knowledge, but for people who purely watch and experience Game of Thrones via HBO, nothing below is a spoiler in terms of book facts being brought in that reveal something that hasn’t already occurred. The truth is that for the most part the show has either skipped or passed where the books are, or at the very least are right where the books are anyway and it’s pretty obvious this was purposeful out of respect to George R. R. Martin in regards to his upcoming book.

When we left things, "Big Brother" had misgauged the attention-paying skills of this season's hamsters and 12 questions weren't enough to crown a Head of Household. That means that Sunday's (August 3) episode is going to feature an HoH, nominations and Battle of the Block in one tight hour, right? Follow along... 8:08 p.m. We pick up with a tiebreaker that crowns Nicole and Donny as the new Heads of Household. "Remember how stressed out I was last time I was Head of Household?" Nicole says. Not especially. Honestly, I only remember Nicole in an assortment of funny costumes. We've established that's what Nicole is best at in the game and possibly in the world: Wearing humiliation costumes. On the other hand, Donny observes, "I'm tickled pink that I won Head of Household today." Zach pretends to be pissed off, making a big show of pretending his math was the problem,...

Darren Criss enjoys Hugh Jackman … One Night Only .
Birthday shoutouts go to Margot Kidder who is 65, Mike Judge is 51, and Chris Kirkpatrick is 42.
In ratings news, Arrow was up, while The Tomorrow People was down, and Super Fun Night keeps shedding viewers each week.
Ryan Murphy has confirmed that next season will be the last for Glee, and because of Cory‘s death, the original Finchel scene he envisioned to end the series will be replaced with … well, he doesn’t say, but I’m thinking … Klaine decide to have a baby, and use Santana as a surrogate. The threesome (and baby) spinoff into their own series. There’s your end game, Ryan. You’re welcome.
Eight companies that don’t support gay rights. I knew about all of them except Purina.
Presented without comment: Thomas Roberts - Why I’m Going To Russia Despite Anti-Gay Laws.

While The Voice will crown its season three champion tonight, those contestants who didn't make it to the finals have already started to reenter the world after months of being sequestered by the show. Although people like Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte have become familiar names to millions of fans of the show, they didn't know that. Brown tells Rolling Stone she found that out abruptly after speaking her mind on gun control.
