Horrible!
J_ello10 July 2005
This was so bad,I watched some of it just because I was intrigued. There was this stupid thing where this guy controls some toy dolls to play out a story about crack heads, that was really dumb and very, very, very unfunny. That was absolutely pointless and poorly done.I don't know what the point of that segment was.I found that the stupidest thing in the Bobroom (And by the way, what kind of name is that?!To answer my own question,a very crappy one). The sketches were not funny and all the unnecessary swearing was pointless. It didn't make it anymore interesting or funny. The actors were not funny,in fact, they sucked balls. They definitely don't know how to do sketch comedy well. This piece of crap wasn't worth watching.Take my advice and please don't watch this unfunny piece of crap.It was a waste of my time.I am appalled that the people who made this thought it would be a good idea! All you guys involved with this project should be embarrassed!

terrible
markbolger7529 April 2005
this show was one of the worst things ever produced on the comedy network in canada. how any body could look at the ideas and scripts for this and then says that they are funny and worth productizing is not know to me. bobroom had no talent among any of the writers or performers and the production value was not good at all did they use camcorders with VHS tapes in some guys basement of garage? the actor's can't be blame to much because i saw three of the guys in lots of other stuff around and they weren't terrible in all that other stuff but this show is just terrible. i think they wrote them selves so i would say stop ever writing again and just stick to performing in movies and stuff because this is just painful.

Excellent Writing!
TheBigJerk27 March 2005
This was one of those Canadian sketch shows that just had good, funny writing and strong performances. There were no bad impressions of the Prime Minister, no topical humor, no political humor and no recycled jokes. It is original comedy that had me in stitches every time it was on. Aside from the brutal lighting and awful studio audience this was a terrific sketch show. Just funny sketches, completely different than any other sketch shows on in Canada. If you like KITH you will love this! Jason Jones and Mike Beaver, two of the writers also wrote a hilarious Canadian feature film called Ham and Cheese. It's better than the show. Dave Foley and Scott Thompson from KITH are in it too and they are all excellent. I think if this show was given the chance it could have been great. I guess we'll all be stuck with Royal Canadian Air Farts for another twenty years. Oh good god, help us!

Lots of good moments

I've followed these guys careers for a while, back at the days they performing in the back room of the Toronto Rivoli (I think that's what it's called) and they were great back then. But then many years passed and nothing....and then all of a sudden they pop up on The Canadian Comedy channel. I was elated. I live in the states now, so I had to get a friend of mine to tape the episodes and then fed ex them down to me...and a lot of their stuff still holds up. Many, many funny sketches. I still love the one where Mark Deaver plays the awkward guy. Very funny. Some stupid claymation thing about crack heads in the middle of the show kind of bothered me, didn't seem to fit with the show's style. Anyway, if it's ever on in Canada, make sure to check it out. Very funny stuff!

not that bad

just because someone has a different sense of humour than you doesn't mean you have to be excessively mean. The Segment "crack doll house" is indeed very strange and absurd and while I agree that they did not have to keep doing that segment it has fun and weird. Winston Spears is delightfully strange and a welcome change of pace from more mundane comedians. The rest of the show had some very good sketches and some not so great sketches but that is the way with any sketch show. My favourite sketches included co-workers played by mike beaver and Jason jones. IF CTV or the comedy network produced any more of The bobroom shows I would gladly watch! as for the rest of these "terrible performers" they in fact have done some really good work and look forward to seeing them in more. (P.s, Yes I have more than basic cable.)

They should've called it "The Not Funny Room"
chelletrudeau4 November 2004
This is one of the worst comedy series that the comedy network has ever tried to ram down our throats. Nothing in it was ever funny. They obviously didn't have a super budget or good writers or anything but that is no excuse for the terrible performances these same cast members would turn in every single episode. A few of the skits were pretty good but did not make up for all the horrible ones that we had to watch every episode in order to get to those good ones and there were only two or three that were at least good ideas. I had high hopes for this show but was disappointed again as I always am when it comes to something originally produce by the comedy network. Maybe next time they should let the writers act and have these guys write the shows so they won't stink so much? They should do something before they end up producting so many horrible shows that there whole network is taken off the air for making everybody stupider just for having watched it! MY ADVICE: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOW LIKE IT IS THE Plague THAT IT IS!!!!!!

I encourage all actors and creators of "the Bobroom" to completely disregard all of the cynics who criticize "The Bobroom". It was, without question, one of the greatest Canadian comedy shows I have seen in years. I didn't like the"Crack doll house" Segments, but the rest of the show was hilarious, truly unexpected form a Comedy Network Start up. I don't understand the comedy network; "The Bob room" got canceled, but "Puppets who kill" gets re-newed season after season. Go figure. All of the office Sketches with Mike Beaver where genius. I know I'm not the only one who would like to see this show back on the air. Anyways, the Bob room was an unexpected gem in Canadian comedy.
