As far as I know, because this kind of topic is not my cup of tea at all, there was not that many French films speaking of beauty contests in general. All the behind the scene, untold things, that means for the young and beautiful gals who participate to those contests. It is interesting, because it shows that a beauty contest is not necessarily a fairy tale for the girls who attend those shows. This plot reminds me a bit Michael Ritchie"s SMILE, an American movie also speaking of beauty contests, but with more budget and talent. This Tv movie remains good but a bit ankward and the young Anne Parillaud is hardly convincing in this young bank clerk who leaves her job to proceed in the beauty contests "business".
