Funny and entertaining
mailsafe-web1 March 2006
As far as shorts go, this was really great! I happened to see the film recently on a flight to Mexico of all places. The premise is simple and the film is very well done. This could have easily turned into a slap-stick juvenile MAD TV type bit. But to my delight, it wasn't. It was very funny without being juvenile or crass for which the director deserves a great deal of credit. The casting was excellent as all the characters were very real and believable. Aside from the entertainment value, I was most struck by the quality of the cinematography and editing which were both extremely well done. This is a quality production and a job well.

Director West pulls out all the stops in this High Definition Film Fest Circuit Favorite.

Director Dave West's "Puddlejumper" made its West Coast Premiere, I think, at the Pacific Palisades Film Festival to a rousing crowd. This film fest circuit crowd-favorite is pleasing the masses with its well-structured story line, its comedic tight script, and benefits too I might add from the often-talked-about High Definition Format. Put West on your Directors To Watch List and run, don't walk, to see this one when it comes your way.

Simple premise well pulled off...

I caught this short in San Diego at its first ever film festival along with a slew of others...alongside The BOYSCOUT and ANNA IS BEING STALKED, this film really stood out. A simple premise of dysentary after some bad tequila south of the border, the cinematography, acting and editing make this film stand out immediately. The skylines are a crisp blue but most of all the central performance by the traveller and his completely visceral need for a bathroom have you, well, on the edge of your seat...sorry. Great short.
