Hippie Hippie Shake
Opens: 2010
Cast: Cillian Murphy, Sienna Miller, Max Minghella, Emma Booth, Lee Ingleby
Director: Beeban Kidron
Summary: Follows the love story of Oz editor Richard Neville and Louise Ferrier. Neville and his cohorts launch the London edition of Oz amidst the 1960s counterculture and are subsequently put on trial for distributing a sexually explicit issue.
Analysis: One of the most troubled productions in Working Title's history, 'Hippie' began development back in 1998 but failed to get beyond script stage both in 1999 and in 2002 when "Elizabeth" helmer Shekhar Kapur was attached to direct. Filming finally got underway late 2007 with director Beeban Kidron in charge and shooting seemed to proceed without issue aside from feminist author Germaine Greer being vehemently unhappy about being depicted on film.
Actually the film scored quite a bit of free press for a skinny dipping scene where full-frontal shots of actress Sienna Miller shooting the sequence...

Phil Traill has signed on to helm the Sandra Bullock starrer All About Steve for Fox 2000.
The film, which will begin shooting in the summer, marks the feature directorial debut for Traill, whose short films Flipped and Dangle won Europe's prestigious Cinema Jove award in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Dangle also won the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival's Talent Movie of the Week Award.
Penned by Kim Barker, the story centers on a brilliant crossword constructor who, after one short date, decides that a CNN cameraman is her true love. Because the cameraman's job takes him hither and yon, she crisscrosses the country, turning up at media events as she tries to convince him they are perfect for each other. She fails in this objective but falls in with a band of misfits who appreciate her for who she is.
Bullock is producing through her Fortis Films production company. Mary McLaglen is executive producing alongside Underground Films' Nicholas Osborne and Trevor Engelson.
