This two-reel number is well constructed and nicely photographed throughout. The accidental shooting of the elder Marshall was well handled and numerous other scenes are pleasing. The plot itself has no very inspiring motive behind it as it might have had if Jack had seen the error of his ways and reformed. As the story stands it is a simple case of "the wages of sin is death." Francis Carlyle, Jack Standing and Pearl Sindelar are in the cast. A good production of an ordinary plot. - The Moving Picture World, April 4, 1914
