- This movie is centred around guns. There are many displays of, and discussions about, guns and various types of ammunition. There are brief photos and films of gory gunshot wounds. Weapons are discharged regularly throughout the film.

- There is talk of a character being beaten up regularly at school, getting "one black eye after another."
- A man talks about "taking two in the back" and sacrificing himself for a cause.

- This film is about the gun culture, and human behaviour around firearms. Even in the lighter scenes there seems to me to be an inevitability that it is all going to go bad. Many of the songs on the soundtrack talk about 'loving', a euphemism for 'killing'.

Violence & Gore
- Guns are imbued with human characteristics and personality. They wed, they keep lookout, they vote at meetings, they flirt, they think, they develop affection for and connection with a particular owner, they could almost fire on their own.
- The central characters raise their weapons in a joint salute, and prepare for an encounter with the police, while the song in the background says "it's the time of the season for loving you." We have already been advised that "loving" is their code word for "killing".
- A boy shoots a marshall.
- In a climactic scene a disabled boy is shot multiple times and staggers along the street before he is finally killed. A gunbattle ensues with multiple gunshots and fatalities on both sides. Autopsy photos of some of the victims are shown.
