It should've stayed on the air.
johnnymacbest25 May 2008
Man, I really do miss Batman TAS, X-Men, Spider-Man and Batman Beyond when they were on the air. Those shows rocked compared to the garbage we get nowadays. Skunk Fu? WTF!!! Why not just make a animated musical for crying' out loud. It's got a lot of things going for it. The anime-inspired artwork, great plots and character interactions are all high marks on my book and on par with past cartoons and makes you care about the characters. I also like the new Ninja Turtle cartoons per se but Teen Titans was taken from us too soon. They need to put this show back on the air because its the only cartoon that's worth watching on TV that actually has a lot going for it.

Long live Teen Titans.

Teen Titans GO!
KUAlum263 June 2007
It was only logical that a show and comic strip would be made about the younger DC comic heroes of established canons(i.e. Batman,Superman,Green Lantern, etc)and so "Teen Titans" has burst forth onto the Cartoon Network with a reasonable amount of success.

A collection of superheroes, all of whom are not quite adult yet, meet and form an alliance to fight evil. Quartered in a giant T building, the quintet--BAtman's Robin,Starfire(a morphing extraterrestrial with fire enhancing powers),Raven(a mysterious shade being from another world whose past is as dark and mysterious as she is),BeastBoy(a kid who can morph into a wide range of animals)and Cyborg(a massive half-robot,half-human)--they battle an assortment of super villains. Nothing original here, but the show is actually very astutely made, able to create effective back-stories and interesting, likable characters paired with rolling action and sharp imagery. This is yet another fusion of Japanese animation with American storyboarding and the end product works.

It seems as if CArtoon Network is trying to scale down this show's run. Whether or not this is tantamount to a cancellation is anybody's guess, but if you can find either the times they're running the show or can get a hold of DVDs of this show(and,of course,if you are into animated superhero series, which goes without saying),I'd recommend giving this show a look.

Quite possibly the best animated show Warner Bros. has ever done!
wliia28 November 2006
What can I say about this show? Since the first episode, I was hooked. Being an anime fan, I found this series to be not only full of great action, but full of brilliant humour as well! The voice actors are among the best of the best. Tara Strong as Raven is brilliant, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy was wonderful, and not forgetting Scott Menville as Robin, he really brought out the teen hero that made him a popular character (although Raven is my favourite Titan!!).

If there's one animated series that you must watch, make it this one! It's full of action and brilliant comedy that will definitely become a classic for years to come!

As much as I like Justice League,I was disappointed when I saw the preview thinking it was going to be another Justice League. However,I did some research and found the characters backgrounds very interesting. What caught my attention was the next preview of Teen Titans which showed some anime style happening so I thought, why not. After watching Final Exam(premiere of TT)I was really happy I gave Teen Titans a chance because the premiere really captured the characters personalities and the voices for each character are very talented.

I like the fact that Marv Wolfman(creator of the series) made Robin the leader to show how strong of a leader and a friend he makes now that he's on his own without Batman. The other Teen Titans are also very enjoyable and easy for people especially teens and kids to relate to.This series is quite impressive because it not only appeals to younger audiences but also appeals to older audiences.

While most episodes are filled with high comedy, some episodes can be very dramatic.Personally, this series helps viewers see not even heroes/heroines are completely invincible but you don't have to have powers or be a certain age to be a hero/heroine.The writers of most episodes send a message to viewers saying even if these teenagers don't go to school, have parents and have total independence, this young team of heroes still has to go through the same problems regular teens have to face.Throughout the series, the writers create episodes based on the characters and their origins, the bonds between the teammates growing stronger or just random yet enjoyable hilarity. This must be one of Cartoon Networks' best series.Great storyboarding, great music and great plot.I'd like to rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

Good Show
vanillastar8612 May 2005
Well, mainly I just wanted to say the I think that this is a good show. As the series go on you DO learn raven, starfire, and cyborg's stories. I think people just mainly assume where Robin came from and we already know his story. If you keep to the series, you learn more little by little. Sometimes the comedy does get a little stale, but I really love the animation, and I hate how people get annoyed about the Anime factor. So what if it borrowed a little anime? There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe the animation isn't the most complex in the world but I think its really clean and clear, and A LOT better than most of the animation today. The way the writers portrayed the characters was right on.

Only a 7.7? Whoa.

I love everything about this show! The action. The drama. The characters. The animation. The voice acting. Everything is just so good! 1- The action. I like super hero shows. I like action shows. How couldn't I love this show? The action is enjoyable, epic and it even has suspense sometimes making me wonder if the Titans will win.

2-The drama. Some of the things the Titans will face are certainly interesting. I won't say much because spoilers, but I really like some of the drama and the scenarios the Titans will be in.

3-The characters. Most of the characters were so likable in this show. They were well-developed, interesting, diverse. My favourites were probably Starfire and Raven.

4-The animation. The animation is a lovely mix of Japanese and Western. While I'm not a huge fan on anime, the animation still appeals to me. And it doesn't look like a knockoff either.

5-The voice acting. All the voices fit the characters in this. And the VAs all gave an excellent performance.

Overall, I would Definitely recommend Teen Titans. Watch this show. Not Teen Titans Go.

10/10 I can't believe some people hate it...
ikustaka_0513 March 2008
Damn...this shows rocks! I don't know what's up with the others who hates this show...I mean so what if its drawn Anime style? What the heck are your problems with that? I mean loosen up a bit...I don't believe you just wanted it to be like the same old style...It's not that I hate JLU etc....

...anyway no doubt a very good action-packed and a very hilarious show. It's very rare to see a show like Teen Titans...it perfectly mix the action and comedy genres in it...love it! 10/10! ...I just wish that they make more seasons...and more movies....

Make more seasons! We love this show!

Better than Teen Titans Go
dt-7516029 July 2017
Please read my Teen Titans Go review, I'm too lazy to write a full review on this show right now. I mean it focuses more on character and relationships, the characters can handle their responsibilities, and don't forget the anime art style, I mean I do know that the art style if based off of an anime called "Fooly-Cooly". The jokes aren't dumb down, instead they're humorous.

Super teens
stefanozucchelli11 November 2021
Good characters and some great episodes outbreaks but overall it felt pretty mediocre as a series with a lot of absolutely superfluous episodes. I didn't even like how they ended the relationship between Beast Boy and Terra.

No expectations is a surefire way to obtain appreciation
thee_awful_din26 August 2005
To be honest, I was prejudice against this show right from the beginning. I thought it was simply some violent children's show with teenagers winning battles solely through the power of friendship. I was reluctant to watch any of the episodes and refused bluntly to my friends when they suggested seeing just an episode.

Then, one night when I was baby sitting, the kid I was looking after asked if he could watch Teen Titans. I wasn't about to object and make him watch "Will & Grace" (A show which definitely wouldn't be appropriate for his age.) I simply nodded and he expertly changed the channel and we began to watch.

I had no expectations for the show, but I also had nothing else to occupy myself. I rolled my eyes as I saw a little green character, which he explained to me was Beast Boy, downloading a video game on his friend's computer console. By the time catchy theme song began, I was mildly interested. Through out the episode I realized that the characters each had a personality and problems of their own. They had their funny quirks and excellent chemistry, the very basis of a hit show like "Friends".

I now proudly say that I'm a fan of Teen Titans watch it often. I expected nothing out of the show, and it turned out to be something I actually enjoy. People who don't like this show expect it to be something as impressive as "Justice League", and are disappointed. This show is DIFFERENT, therefore it will only impress you if you aren't looking for a hard-hitting action series. So I advise you to view this show with nothing in mind realize how pleasurable a silly kid's cartoon can really be.

Not for adults
mhwg-droste7 March 2021
I had heard good things about this show, but I had never seen it as a kid. I thought it might be suitable for light entertainment, so I watched a couple of episodes. But it is just awful, I'm bored out of my mind watching it.

The animation is very cheaply done and one consequence of this is that action only confers some basic scheme of participation and outcome. It's so cartoonish that it is no longer tactile, it is not in any way grounded in physical reality. I started a game while watching this show just pointing out the number of times someone realistically should have died while taking a laser cannon to the face. But everyone emerges unscathed from any altercation, every "hit" is treated as if someone at most was pushed away roughly.

I can go on about this. There was an instance where a new villain was introduced and was under fire. He smugly stands there, powers up an attack and takes out the sentries. And this is then applauded as a display of tactical genius, proving his skills. Yet this whole operation was dependent on the inability of "automated sentries" to hit a standing target for five seconds of gunfire.

There are other cases where I just get annoyed at the lack of any tactical insight displayed by anyone. Use a gun! Seriously. I'm fairly certain that I by myself could just walk into this world and singlehandedly shoot down every single Titan. There is an early episode where a team of villains has to take out the titans, and the latter are just out in public eating pizza. Half of them don't have superpowers and can just be shot with no repercussions. But no one does this.

Here is another example why as an adult you cannot take such shows seriously. People don't share powers or outfit themselves in a manner befitting an operator or an assassin. For instance, the boy genius with various inventions etc from one episode could just, I don't know, share his skills with his team. There is no reason why he himself should even have to fight when on that same team is a superpowered giant.

Power levels fluctuate drastically not just between, but within episodes. The titans can be beaten, but then they just get serious. They show some determination and effortlessly mop up the villains. But the episodes are so compressed that we have not witnessed any sort of growth or understanding that can explain these newfound conditions.

And of course because this is a show about a team of heroes, they all must get equal billing and so on. They get a roughly equal number of action scenes to showcase their unique abilities. The problem is that not all abilities are made equal. It's not a fighting game where you have developers actively trying to tweak the balance, it's just an episodic story that should ideally explore setting and characters and so on. And the obvious result there is that Robin has no powers and should immediately lose out and that Beast Boy's power to transform into a bear or whatever should have him destroyed by any villain with actual super powers or advanced weaponry.

And so on, it just sucks and it makes no sense.

But I honestly don't care that much about action sequences, it's only that they're relatively straightforward to criticize and they're so ubiquitous in these shows. After a few episodes you start to treat them as filler or as jokes, once you hear the the faintly ridiculous battle cries and catchphrases you just tune out.

A more serious problem is that plot and character are barely existent. A typical episode introduces some minor bit of tension between two titans about nothing, which at the very least utterly fails at being a poignant depiction of some aspect of teen anxiety. And then they scare away the villain and all is forgiven. Usually you can just wait for the one character to show up at the decisive moment and deliver a cheesy line. It's usually not even explained how they can even find the villains. Half of the time it doesn't even explain where the villains come from. The titans just show up randomly all the time and start to fight. I quickly zeroed in on Robin as one of the most obnoxious characters. He's supposedly the leading man who should investigate, i.e. instigate plot development, but it's never anything more than "Titans Go!".

I might watch a handful more episodes, but I'm not expecting it to get much better. On the other hand, other shows of this type did have good episodes/arcs (for instance the Batman animated series, JL:U).

etc. this is maybe a bit pointless to write. I'm not giving the show a bad grade, because I can't fairly rate it. I can't get into the mindset of a kid anymore who watches this for the first time. All I know is that I just can't take this seriously.

It has some charms, but...
raven_blood8817 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The show first debuted with a fresh blend of comedy, action, a tad of romance, and a great set of characters, based off DC Comics' well known teen-age super-heroes. Unfortunately, it lost its spark in many ways... (Spoiler Alert) It all started when they decided to make Robin become obsessed with the big baddie of the show - Slade. It seemed too close to the formula of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader of the "Star Wars" movies. But, Slade wasn't Robin's father, even though the series made slight hints at that. But this was obviously not true, since there were no more hints made after the first season. (PLOT HOLE!!) The second season, while having some good episodes, had some of the worst plot episodes invented. They introduced Terra, a girl who can't control her powers, and turned her into a spoiled brat who joins Slade for no apparent reason whatsoever. She said it was so she could learn how to harness her powers, but the other Titans could have helped her with that. Then, she tries to kill them all, and gets upset when they come back for revenge. The term, "You bought it!" comes to mind here. (Another PLOT HOLE!!) Then, they made a season all about Cyborg, which was one of the biggest bores in the entire show. He discovered (as he discovered in many other episodes) that he is still a human being. Then, they made him save the day in the cheesiest and lousiest way I think I've ever seen. His human spirit resists the mind control of the evil Brother Blood. Well, shouldn't the others' human spirits also be able to resist Brother Blood, since they're all human? (...except maybe Starfire and Raven.) (Yet another PLOT HOLE!!) Then, - speaking of Raven - the fourth season revolves all around her. But instead of keeping her in character, she becomes sappy and simpering, because she's destined to destroy the Earth. Then, why didn't she flee long ago, if she knew this was coming? Is she that thick? It seems unlike her to be so careless about something like that! (Well, well, looks like another PLOT HOLE!!) Then, the final season... the season I was hoping would be the best, turned out to be the worst. They went ahead and introduced all these new Titans, but hardly any of them had any screen time, because the show didn't have enough episodes to hold them all. Plus, they introduced Beast Boy's old team, the "Doom Patol", at the beginning, but they don't even help the Titans at the final battle. (Just some more of the PLOT HOLE virus.)

Plus, the side episodes were either all about: Cyborg realizing he's human for the 300th time; Robin and Starfire drama; Beast Boy messing everything up, then saving the day; or Raven (who had the least side episodes out of all the characters) not really doing much.

Still, it has some charms. But it's definitely not the best animated show out there. Then again, I don't think there are any animated shows worth comparing to it, so maybe I'm wrong.

4/10.

DC Comics makes a younger superhero team
SonicStuart25 August 2004
Teen Titans is a team of young teenaged superheroes led by Robin from Batman. The other team members of the Teen Titans are Raven, Cyborg, Star Fire and Beast Boy. They live in a large tower in the shape of a T that they call the Titan Tower and these heroes have no secret identities and they have no school because they are just superheroes! Together they must go up against their arch nemesis, Slade and his other evil members. Slade is the most bad ass villain I have ever seen and his plans are just so evil and Ron Perlman does a perfect job of playing the voice of Slade! I think this superhero team is pretty cool! My favorite character is probably Robin because he has cool gadgets and plus his martial arts moves are tight! This series premiered on Cartoon Network July 2003 and it's also on Kids WB but mostly on Cartoon Network.

Teen Titans: a drastic spin on an older comic book series that works, in my opinion
baddabingbaddablue-112 April 2008
A rant: I do not see why all of these previous comments here are so hateful. If you read them carefully and inspect where they were written, these people have watched a maximum of probably 5 episodes. To me, that is like judging a movie by watching twenty minutes of it and leaving the theater and giving the movie a bad name. Honestly, it is a show for the family and really isn't meant to be a hard-hitting cartoon because most parents with 10 year old aren't really looking for them to be watching a show that is too dramatic for their age. Also, while I enjoy Justice League like a lot of people, I think the plot gets a bit too complex for the adolescent mind and the kids just end up watching the show for the action scenes rather than to know what the story is. This is a show meant for various audiences therefore they have to make the story condensed in each episode in order to keep a child's attention span, yet the writers manage to put enough in their to provide you with a substantial amount to keep an adult or teen interested.

My rant is pretty much over.

Review: I began watching this show when I was 11 and have been a comic book fan long before then. I used to watch my brother's tapes of Batman the Animated series and have watched countless animated comics and watch anime, and I also read comics and manga. I remember being excited for the premier of this show and was anything but disappointed when the episode ended. From then on I've been a die-hard fan of the show and while I grew up and my views on movies and shows I enjoyed changed, I was consistently entertained and enthralled in this show. I've seen at lease every episode 5 times and never tire of the plot or characters. I'll admit, this show wasn't immaculate or anything, but it was a very entertaining show and embodied many likable traits in it. Personally, I really enjoyed the animation style; while it wasn't your typical Justice League or Batman animation, it tried to keep up beat with new wave of Japanese animation that is rushing over America. Not only that, but I love how the character's are younger and more relatable to kids than the older Titans (who weren't even really "teens" as we like to label them in today's society), how well they interlock and how their characterization develops more from their interaction with each other and with other characters in the series. I find the series to be very stylized and well done and I believe the writing and depth of the series grows along with the characters and their conflicts and triumphs. It also conveys very wholesome messages on friendship, teamwork, and how even people with superpowers have everyday troubles like love and quarreling, making them more realistic and not invincible (like superman...).

To sum it up: I greatly enjoy this series and would recommend it to most people. I do not believe it deserves all the bad credit it gets from fans of the comics who just don't want to give into change and how different it may be from their ideal animated series. This is up there with Cartoon Network's best animated series in my book and is probably on of the last of good cartoons we are going to see from Cartoon Network for a while. Please, give it a chance and form your own opinion.

My rating: 10/10

Hilarious, interesting and I think very underrated show
TheLittleSongbird18 April 2012
I wasn't sure whether I would like Teen Titans at first, it did seem very juvenile at first. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a great show and only got better and better as it went on. The animation is of very good quality on the whole, with the backgrounds suitably fluid and ethereal, and the music is rousing and enough to knock your socks off with its energetic rhythms. The writing was wonderful, often hilarious with the jokes, references and sarcasm but there was room for it to be deep too, the storytelling is compelling with the action very exciting and the characters have distinctive personalities and are likable, even Beastboy who may irritate some but seem lovable to others(I in general am in the latter). The voice cast are of great talent and they all are emotive and into their characters. All in all, very well-written and interesting, a great show. 10/10 Bethany Cox

One of the greatest animations of all time
aedzant20 December 2020
A light-hearted yet complex and emotionally thought-provoking series, Teen Titans follows the adventures of Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven; a group of five teenage superheroes who work together to fight crime and save the universe. The series is five seasons long, and each season has a different plot line that centers around one specific Titan (with the exception of Starfire, which is a shame since she's such an interesting and beautifully written character).

While the overall tone of some episodes can be serious and some-what dark, there are a lot of silly moments and filler episodes scattered throughout the series that add a refreshing amount of humor to balance out the drama. The show also does an excellent job at covering adult topics (such as racism, abuse, PTSD, death, etc.) in a way that's appropriate for children. Although almost every episode teaches an important lesson, it's done so in a way that's very nuanced and not overshadowing to the main plot.

The fight sequences are exciting and fun to watch, and each Titan is always given a moment to showcase their own abilities. We see each of their strengths, weaknesses, and their difference in fighting techniques, and we are shown that although the Titans are the most formidable when they work together as a team, they're also more than capable of individually holding their own in a fight. This helps the audience get a sense of who each of the characters are individually.

Speaking of the characters, Teen Titans already has so many amazing qualities, but what really makes the show so great are the Titans themselves. All five of the main characters have deeply fleshed out, interesting and diverse personalities. They each have their own specific quirks, backgrounds, and speech patterns, and although they do have they're own archetypes, they aren't written in a way that feels cliche or stereotypical. Instead, the characters are complex and multidimensional individuals that the audience can relate to. They aren't perfect heroes; sometimes they argue, get angry with each other, and make morally grey decisions. They feel real, which is such a refreshing change from the one-dimensional character tropes most superheroes tend to fall under.

Even though these characters are so different from one another, they have a dynamic that works extremely well together. They make jokes, they fight, and they interact in a way that's an enjoyable and realistic depiction of how best friends act. Whether they're looking out for each other in battle, going out for pizza or having a scary movie night, it's clear that these characters really care about each other, and I'd say that their tight-knit friendship is the heart of the show. They're not just teammates; they're five best friends who love and trust each other completely, and it's incredibly heartwarming to watch their bond grow stronger throughout the series.

Robin and Starfire's romance is especially beautiful, and watching their relationship develop from friends into something more is easily one of the highlights of the series. It's adorably sweet, gentle, and pure, and it's the type of love that you can't help but root for.

There are some pretty great villains, too. The main villains of the series - Slade, Blackfire, Brother Blood, Trigon, and the Brotherhood of Evil- make very interesting and formidable opponents, and it's fascinating to see how they contrast with the Titans.

The voice acting is top-notch. From the villains, the side characters, to the main cast themselves, all of the actors did a magnificent job of embodying the complexities of their characters and bringing them to life in a way that is special and unique. However, I really have to give Scott Menville, Greg Cipes, Tara Strong, Khary Payton, and Hynden Walch a special shout out, they were absolutely fantastic.

In my opinion, this is one of the greatest cartoons of all time. The animation is great, there's a perfect blend of action, drama and comedy, the characters all have beautiful chemistry and are wonderfully written and fleshed out, and the voice acting is spectacular.

All in all, this is a really marvelous series that both children and adults can enjoy. Even almost 20 years after it first aired, it still holds up to it's legacy and it continues to be a favorite of mine to this day. If you haven't watched Teen Titans already, I highly suggest you do so now. You won't regret it.

Why all the bad reviews for something great?
maximumae24 July 2013
This really is one of the best shows I ever watched.

Now when I first watched this I would change the channel or suffer through it, but after watching a few episodes I became hooked. And I admit it does have some really stupid episodes but episodes like Aftershock (both parts), Nevermore, The End (all parts), Titans Together, Hide and Seek, and some of the other episodes are dark and have good a good story, character development, and a great amount of darkness that made me feel I wasn't watching a kids show. I think the bad reviews are people who watched one episode and judged it based on that one episode. I can say I have watched every episode except episode 0. (The Lost Episode)

This really is one of my top cartoons compared to all of the more recent trash being aired. Heck I even like Teen Titans Go!

Teen titans go is wayyy better
megawirex23 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ignore the bait title. As someone that watched teen titans go first as a kid and recently watched teen titans under a week. I can say that the show is good and pretty much has nothing to do with the baby titans spin off.

I think there are several problems though.

I personally would've liked the show to only have story based episodes instead of the stupid side episodes that can be skipped without any problem. Atleast 1/3 of the episodes could be skipped and you can keep watching the series normally.

There is discontinuation with the plot, The story starts, then a side episode, and then the story continues

Then let's talk about the enemies they face. It always starts with the enemy destroying them and then after rematching it they destroy it. By destroying i mean just making them weak and living it alone, or taking them to prison just for them to escape and commit crimes again. I understand that its a kids show and they can't actually kill monsters but atleast if they could physically damage them a bit. I think the word kill was never mentioned in the show.

The best episodes are the one that follow the main storyline of course. The lowest point of the show was season 3, the cyborgs season. The ending is super lame and dumb and there was no good build up for it.

Sometimes they don't feel real, you never see the titans in different costumes and they are like unbeatable. For example in the last episodes Brain soldiers shoot at the titans, the bullets never hits them and makes me think about what would happen if they actually get it once by those soldiers? Would they die? Will the enemies in the show have a good aim for once?

The ending was definitely not supposed to be that lol. The voice actors said that the ending means that its a representation of the world changing for teenagers and that terra is just imagination because beast boy won't move on. So it wasn't made to be a cliff hanger.

Let me tell you that the creators surely don't care about giving a nice lesson to teenagers on their show ending. All they care, just like every company, is money. So why would they stop having money since everyone wants a season 6? I don't know, maybe its because there's teen titans go with a cheap animation easy to make and therefore have money easier. Let's pray to God that teen titans go dies and after their money generator disappears they will be forced to make a season 6.

However the more time passes, the least likely it will happen, at some point the Voice actors contract will end and they can just leave the series once and for all, they must be bored to work to the same thing for 20 years.

Overall, my top seasons are: (1)Season 5 There were fewer stupid side episodes and more episodes on the story and a good ending to it, even if only the villains fighter and not the main villain brain which is just a metal can so i cant blame him

(2)Season 4 I like raven and the satanic theme on this season. Trigon was too easy to beat tho

(3)Season 1 Slade is probably the best villain in the series and Robin is a good character. And this season mainly focuses on them

(4)Season 2 I dont dislike it that much, but terra could've been done better than just going to Slades sides for pretty much no reason at all

(5)Season 3.

The main villain sucked, cyborg sucked too.

NOT another animation of a DC comic!

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw the preview for Teen Titan(the preview on kids WB before it previewed on CN) I was excited, it looked really good and the character designs just shouted "Anime-Style!" Which was so cool cause I'm a HUGE fan of anime.

So when it premiered on Cartoon Network, I couldn't wait! After I saw the premiere episode "Final Exam," I fell in love with the show! The characters are:

Robin: ex-sidekick of Batman and the cool tough leader of the team. This character is hard for me to like or dislike. In some episodes he's a great leader and a good friend, but in other episodes like "Hounted" & "The Beast Within" he's too focused on being a hero that he forgets to be a friend. Also I love the Robin/Starfire couple the best.

Cyborg: Half human, half machine. Brains and brawn mixed into one. Cyborg is a pretty good character both when he's making fun of Beastboy or talking tech talk, the show wouldn't be the same without him.

Beastboy: One of the funniest Titans on the show, even if the other Titans don't think so. Beastboy isn't just humor though, he can shape-shift into any animal, even alien species. I like both the BB/Terra pairing & BB/Raven pairing, however the second one is my favorite.

Starfire: Her confusion and misunderstanding of the ways of earth add so much humor to the series. Starfire is an alien for the planet Tamaran(I think I spelled that right.) She can shoot "Starbolts" from her hands, fly, and later on she can shoot lasers from her eyes. While she's strong in battle Starfire is a very sweet, kind, and lovable character.

Raven: Even with her monotone voice(Tara Strong)and sarcasm Raven still manages to make me laugh! Sometimes Raven can be timid and withdrawn because she feels different. But doesn't everybody? Raven has a very dark mind, literally, and her power of telekinesis is seen as dark energy. One of my favorite characters because I feel I can relate to her. Plus she likes to read just as much as I do!

All in all, Teen Titans is the best DC comic cartoon both because the anime-style and the writing. I give it a 10 out of 10!

Teen Titans made a remarkable comeback, and it has kept me captivated through the good and bad! It bothers me that I'll have to see Things Change. The best and funniest teen titans series ever.

A blend of Anime and American cartoon rocked this world to life!!!!!
sadik3517 June 2006
Aw man! When I first saw this series I felt so happy and thrilled that Anime and America joined forces to accomplish one of the biggest hits ever! This series has a lot of action and hilarious crude humor and some new ones. My favorite character is Robin because Teen Titans expresses a lot of crisis that Robin faces as a leader and having to deal with his dark-side gives an edge to new superheroes. The Robin and Starfire relationship is a great essential plot to most of this series. Raven is a new superhero that brings the meaning of sacrifice to television. I love her too even though she is not my favorite because Robin is a great leader who cares much about his friends than himself. Anyway back to Raven. Without her, Teen Titans wouldn't be Teen Titans. Her scary and dark past makes you go crazy, you want to know more about her each time an episode shows. I love her power. Even though she could still take over the world she is still vulnerable because unlike the Justice League series where people tend to die, Teen Titans does not show about that kinda quality. I still think she is powerful and next is Cyborg. Cyborg is a new class of teen heroes equipped with the latest technology and is really funny. He and BB really make the show running and I mean it Literally. I feel so sorry for Cyborg most of the times because he never got the chance to feel how it is to be a man until he finally figured that out in Episode#39: Titans East part two. But still I guess he would love to be human. Beast Boy is really hilarious and tries to fit in and make everyone understand him but every time he does he screws it up by accident. But hey his powers fit perfectly with his whacked out and cool style. Last but not least cute little alien Starfire. Now she is a new breed of superheroes today. I love her personalities the most. Her main problem is trying to cope up with earthly situations which Justice League does not show at all with that dumb and ugly Martian the Manhunter. That show is so serious and you sometimes get bored to death because they are old adults which normally is focused on by movie makers. I mean come on Teen Titans is the first DC comic television show that really focuses on teenagers which I truly appreciate. This show is really great and focuses on true life events and crisis that happens and now have turned it into a bunch of teenage superheroes with problems in different styles. Teen Titans is a really 'supercalifragilsiticexpealidocius' show.(I really wanted to express my feelings towards this show and this word is perfect for America's #1 hit show) I hope that the rumors are true because I really miss this show.

a wasted opportunity, insulting to teenagers
CineMage22 November 2004
Let me state from the outset that I recognize and respect the changes which have to be made when a superhero comic book is translated for television or film. I had no problem with Spider-Man's web spinners being biological instead of technological. I fully understand why the film version of Xavier's School for Gifted Children is a hodgepodge of the *X-Men* title roll-calls of the past several decades. There have been enough different visions of the Superman and Batman characters that I am not surprised by the variety of interpretations in the many films and television series on these characters.

That said, this cartoon series is a demeaning take on the classic *Teen Titans* comic book title which revitalized the D.C. Comics line-up in the 1980s and 1990s and a demeaning take on the modern American teenager.

In the comic book title, the Teen Titans are thoughtful college-age teenagers who grapple with ethical uncertainties.

The cartoon turns them into anorexic anime' clichés behaving in that sort of tritely false junior high way only adults who have completely forgotten their teenage years could write, with an almost desperate pretense of hipness to it.

Robin the protégé' of The Batman is given a tolerable interpretation, although in the title Tim Drake (Robin) lives at home with his wealthy father, and Dick Grayson (the original Robin of the Teen Titans) was a college student living with The Batman.

However . . .

Raven is a shy, quiet empath with tremendous survivor's guilt and a control over the shadows of the human soul, not a poorly done goth imitation of MTV's Daria!

Beast Boy (Changeling) is a witty trickster and adopted son of one of the richest men in the world, not an emaciated Eddie Munster with all the wit of one of the Brady Bunch kids!

Starfire is a buxom, statuesque warrior princess who can fire off devastating star bolts, not a pre-pubescent anime' fairy princess flinging energy gobs like a monkey flinging poo!

Cyborg is a brilliant engineer, son of the designer of Titans Tower, not a stereotypical Black kid like every other stereotypical Black kid shown on television (at least he avoids wearing the requisite basketball uniform or mouthing the hackneyed efforts to imitate rap!)

Terra is a cigarette-smoking sexual predator and violent psychopath, not a waifish orphan girl given to collapsing into tears whenever the plot needs Beast Boy to seem like the rescuing male!

Unlike the Batman animated series or the Justice League cartoons, this cartoon is nothing but a wasted effort which trivializes teenagers as empty-headed posturers.

AVOID!

Great stuff.
Tenchi6458911 October 2003
Man, the first time I saw the promos for this, I thought this was gonna suck... good thing I checked it out anyway and found out that it was very well done.

By the way, I'm a supporter of the Robin/Starfire relationship tie-in... as I'm sure everyone's aware of all the different titan relationship tie-ins.

The characters are voiced very well, and the American/Japanese animation blend does wonders for this show.

If it's good enough to last a few more seasons, I'm gonna check that out.

This series is a 10 as far as I go.

The original has great animation, awesome Japanese influence as well as more action and none of the "butt" jokes Teen Titans Go make.
