Where angels wear condoms
lor_8 August 2016
The opening shot of a blue sky signals the presence behind the camera of Skye Blue, delivering a whimsical porn view of heaven that accompanies a rather half-baked feature. There were moments I enjoyed but overall it falls in the minus column of her prolific career.

Chosen probably for the alliteration, Haven stars as a girl in search of the ultimate orgasm, narrating her story from a perch in Hell, where the horns on her forehead imply permanent residence.

But it was a malfunctioning new vibrator that electrocuted her and sent her at first to Heaven. Skye, whose affinity for mystical subjects had her directing a similarly disappointing astrology effort called "Zodiac Rising" (for which Haven was production manager), pictures Heaven in soft focus, with the set consisting of wispy clouds. I'll try to sort out the players, which IMDb contributors have badly misidentified, as I go along. She's seen humping Angel Boy Bob, admittedly hard to recognize as it's the young Erik (misspelled "Eric") Everhard with very long hair.

Skye skirts the issue of the divinity, referring to God merely as "Big Daddy", an allusion to material far closer to her sexy/kinky approach to life, namely Tennessee Williams. Big Daddy casts Haven out, sending her back to Earth to search for the Ulitmate Orgasm, basically to get it out of her system, as her free-love humping in Heaven has been disruptive.

She lands in a flower shop, and the randomness/non sequitur structure of Skye's script begins to unravel. There she witnesses (voyeuse role) two busty blonde florists having lesbian sex with a vibrator: Nina Dolci, whose voice and fake look had me wondering if she were a trans-female at first and Dayton Rains.

Skye's premise is that Haven is only an observer on Earth who cannot participate, a gimmick permitting plenty of extraneous (but necessary for the fans) sex scenes which is violated later on.

Haven heads (still on Earth) to the Heavenly Ice Cream Shop presided over by Pat Myne and Colt Steele, who are auditioning a girl to work there, making a banana split. She's doing a lousy job but Haven intercedes, having the girl deep throat a banana which turns the trick. But Pat, anticipating Gordon Ramsay's TV series "MasterChef" by a decade, insists "You gotta earn this apron", which means she must have a three-way with Pat & Colt. Star E. Knight performs here, but is uncredited by Jill Kelly Prods. for no obvious reason.

Back in Heaven Randy Spears (who directed Knight in the very fine Jill Kelly production "April in January" around this time) is chatting with fellow angel Kelsey Heart about Haven's fate -they miss her, bad influence and all. Removing their halos, they hump in Heaven and Couples film or not, facials are the preferred Skye Blue money shot in this feature.

Haven is tossed back to Earth (the script very clumsy at this point) but allowed to interact with humans more fully this time around. She lands in the bed of janitor Cheyne Collins and Alexis Amore who are arguing. But there's no argument that the new arrival can spice up their marriage, so we get a three-way putting Haven back to work in the sack.

Finale has Haven resigned to her fate in Hell, admonishing "All the sexy people are in Hell" and concluding on an up note "Maybe I am in Heaven", horns and all.

The sex scenes are okay, the condoms ridiculously distracting and the level of commitment to the material doubtful. Actress Haven is pleasant enough but never made the big time, while Skye is still cranking out increasingly assembly line product as a successful director.
