Really slick and cool (spoilers)

In a covert listing station an operative picks up a telephone conversation between someone he suspects is an agent and someone called mother. He follows their communication and intercepts another message about cakes and candles. However has he stumbled upon a plot of major importance or just something innocent?

I didn't expect much from this as I knew it was a really short animation. It started well with a touch of Japanese animation about it. Full of spy imagery and cool music it really conjures up a good atmosphere. I wasn't sure where it was going but the second conversation made me sigh, because it looked like it was an obvious joke.

Happily I was taken by surprise by the climax and it was much better than I thought it would be. I was astonished by the end - not because it was wonderful, but because it was unexpected and the direction really helped created a mood of shock and fear.

Hats off to the makers. They only had 3 or 4 minutes but they used really cool animation and used the listening station to really turn up tension when everything else was potentially mundane. I really enjoyed this and, at 3 or 4 minutes, I can watch it again without having to free up time to do it!
