Illogical twist
nadeemakht200018 January 2023
This film is a remake of cape fear similar to another Bollywood film kanoon kya karega. But while in kanoon kya karega story looks realistic. In this movie the twist seems unbelievable and forced like why Dharmendra hold his police officer friend shatrughan sinha responsible for implicating him in false rape case more than those who actually implicated him. There is no logical explanation.it seems whole twist is made just to force whole storyline turning in to Cape fear. There seems no connection between earlier and after storyline.in kannon kya karega the negative character seems more believable.

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the strangest movies ever made.

It starts with a marvelous character. A millionaire who executes the lost justice for the poor people. He's a loner, against the law, and deeply wounded. The man was a lover someday, but someone powerful killed his love, and got away with it. So, he determined to be a rich man to get his revenge out of any injustice out there, and the police can't hold a thing against him.

This character is so dramatically attractive, sort of taking the Count of Monte Cristo to the next level. Look at the way he makes banquets for the paupers so god may forgive him someway. Or how the prostitutes are his ultimate drug and point of weakness. The character gets more attractive when it's portrayed by the charismatic (Dharmendra) who, at the time, was in the right age for it, and so capable of embodying the sense of sweeping inner pain.

The movie had even more appeal when the police sent one of the most competent officers to hunt down the obscure keen millionaire. However, and what a surprise, the 2 men were originally old friends since childhood.

OK, at that point, I believed that we were about to watch a one-of-its-kind movie; something differently thrilling, with maybe a character study, and not that Indian; namely vehemently melodramatic. But I was totally mistaken!

SUDDENLY this movie transformed into something ugly. In no time, and no sense, it became another traditional revenge story in the dullest ways ever. I couldn't believe myself how this lovely story which I was watching got fabricated in idiot style, wasting all what it was having. The millionaire was framed and went to jail to come out decided on getting revenge on his friend and his family! This is another movie already?! And you must get the feeling that you're watching 2 movies when you see how poor this guy has become, how his character got changed, and how this turned into the most awful Cape Fear's remake I have seen to date!!

I was laughing in front of scenes like how all the matter was solved at the end when (Dharmendra) saw blood on a girl's dress.. what a nonsense! This screenplay lost the solid, distinct first half, lost its mind, and our time, ruining what was so propitious; through a fist fighting, night club dancing, dumb killing and one unforgettably contrived ending.

At the start, I had much admiration for the directing too. Surely it got stylish, and sort of uncommon, technique that reminded me of (John Frankenheimer), expressly when it came to any shot with a man aiming gun to another man. But as you see, eventually I wasn't mistaken only, I was regretful too.

Qayamat is a movie that lost its way, got schizophrenic, and turned into silly joke in the end.
