Sarah Desmedt claims to be stripped and raped in a wood by rich businessman Paul Van Steenlandt, who called her a whore while throwing money at her for dating his teenage son Dieter. Detectives Lucas Bataillie and his trainee Simon Knops arrest the suspect who was still showering and confiscate all his cloths; Dieter is furious at Paul and his wife walks away from his protestations of innocence. Lucas immediately believes Van Steenlandt is guilty, his colleague and lover Veerle De Tender -with whom he moves in that evening- thinks Sarah lied and enjoyed it. The next morning, Van Steenlandt is found in a chapel, his skull smashed. Worried mother Desmedt, the real whore according to the widow, reports Dieter and Sarah missing...

Lucas and Veerle are called to the home of since one month moved-in Dr. Dirk Deruyck, whose wife Sofie not only panics but even wants to move out after an intruder stood next to her bed; they report nothing of real value stolen, but since she heard the sound of a scooter just like the ones in the club their adolescent son Brecht belongs to, that ruffian bunch is where Lucas starts the investigation. There is a wave of other burglary reports in the neighborhood: Veerle visits old widow Andrea Blanche, who vaguely saw a single burglar while pretending still to be asleep. Lucas is extremely prickly while Veerle takes another house guest, her former studly boy-friend Hendrik, who even walks around undressed and ends up in her bed. The corps of thirteen year-old Lot Govaerts is found. The last three persons to have see her are arrested for interrogation by the team- wealthy businessman Alexander Duchateau, his naive assistant Kristof Mees and her wacky girlfriend Lana Vermeersch. The team believed Alexandre to be their killer, but the other two draw guns to take Veerle, the old commissioner Herman Cardoen and several other colleagues hostage, their only demand being Lucas' team, on the outside, finds the real murderer in a matter of hours, and soon shoot Walter Criel who tried to escape...

He refused to speak once he felt being a suspect, then calls reporting his girlfriend, Hungarian model Dori, missing, next says she took her clothes and left him. Simon traces her to Antwerp, from where she send an e-mail. Lucas does an illegal search and finds Gert spied on Chantal. Veerle tries the chat-room Chantal used as nymphomaniac 'Design'...

An amateur needed several attempts to kill by knife-cuts teenagers Nele Somers and her new lover Wouter Palfeijn, in the custody of his divorced rich Antwerp father Rob Palfeijn, who blames himself for giving his boy too much freedom. Nele's friend suspects her ex Koen Naessens, but he tailed Wouter and saw him committing infidelity. Despite his wife Hilde's reservations, young father Simon Knops now accepts to go undercover again as Simon Peter Vermeiren, hoping to become lover-boy for an Antwerp crime gang which lures girls into prostitution, but is send back to his home town Boom, where the recruiter says a girl was recently lost, to look for truant blonds. Arson in one, Emabb, is fatal for Erik Broos, the most devoted of its voluntary board members. He was the great opponent of a fusion with the rival museums, his board colleague Frank Verbeeck, a chemistry teacher, was pro, because their collections are widely complementary: the best site, the best archive viz. the best objects collection. Each has a candidate for director in case of a merger.
