It's a family affair!
planktonrules22 April 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone associated with this movie seems to have the same last name--Meyer. My assumption is that the director used his own kids or relatives for the actors as well as pretty much everything else. Well, if this is true, this is amazing, as the film doesn't really look like any family project I have seen in a long time! This is not some home movie, but a well-made and clever little film.

The story begins with two bullies initiating some new kid by forcing him to enter a supposedly haunted house. However, the tables are turned late in the film and it is the bullies who eventually end up running away like a couple of babies--thanks to some help from Dad.

Overall, this isn't a deep or earth-shattering film--just a nice little production that made me laugh!

A cute and funny short
Woodyanders20 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Two mean and overbearing bullies force the sweet new kid in town to enter a creepy old house and deliver a newspaper to the crazy old man who supposedly lives in the rundown abode. Writer/director Dennis Meyer crafts a witty and amusing little ditty which unfolds in a snappy seven minutes and culminates in a neat surprise twist ending in which the no-count bullies get a taste of their own nasty medicine. Max Meyer contributes a likable performance as the new kid while Dennis Meyer III and Timothy Meyer are perfectly hateful and jerky as the two bad eggs. Moreover, Tyler Meyer's shadowy cinematography makes neat use of bluish lighting to create an ominous atmosphere while Denis Meyer's playfully macabre and shivery score does the shuddery ooga-booga trick. A total hoot.
