Bizzare and Sleazy...
vandee1830 March 2004
I felt the film to be very atmospheric. The director was successful conveying a consistency of tone which was sleaze and filth. The main character is utterly unlikeable and therefore kind of sympathetic. I have always been a fan of the underdog!

Short and concise... I wanted to watch more after the last screen which ended with a very realistic stomping. I recognized the hitman as Messiah, who I am a big fan of when he wrestled for the now defunked EPIC Pro Wrestling League in Los Angeles.

Unique camera angles added to the surreal world of the film. The beaded curtain opening had a nice dramatic effect as in the peeling of the outer layer to expose the sleaze within. The special efx, the severed finger, was really well done. Kudos to the sculptor!

Very good for an amateur effort.

Warning: Spoilers
I love how these days up and coming film makers can make and distribute their films so easily. This short film was written by Nicole Jones and was directed by and stars Ian Jones. I have no idea if they are husband-wife, brother-sister or just both happen to coincidentally have the same last name. Neither have any credits on IMDb other than this funny but somewhat rough film.

It begins with a sleazy jerk acting like a sleazy jerk while visiting his post office box for his home porn business. You automatically hate him, as he really is a nasty sort of "man". In an odd twist, however, he receives a human finger with a ring on it in his p.o. box! It seems someone has kidnapped someone and has sent it as a warning...and, it turns out, was delivered to the WRONG box! When the jerk realizes this, he decides to keep the ring on the finger and not tell anyone he received the box by mistake. Bad choice...as you'll see if you watch this funny little film!
