A waste of time and money!

This is one of the dullest Kung Fu / swordplay-movies I've ever seen. And it had absolutely no Kung Fu or swordplay in it!!

The main character felt sorry for himself and got drunk all day. Then he was a little mean to people around him and got more drunk. That's it! Nothing more to say. It bored the s**t of me. I heard it was a remake of "The Sentimental Swordsman", which I really like and therefore I was excited to see it. And also it has Sony Chiba in it, so you can at least expect a decent Kung Fu flick. Serious mistake! There was not one fight, neither swordplay nor Kung Fu.

Sorry, at the end of the movie there's actually one fight scene. But very new wave, bad done and boring!

Don't spend a penny on it!

Warning: Spoilers
I give this movie 1 star because i can't give it less than that ever. I recently read a translation of the book this movie is supposedly based on 小李飞到 which is one of the best novels i have read. This movie takes the names of three of the characters and the fact that xiao Li is a drunk who's throwing dagger never fails and that's it. In the book Li became a drunk because his sense of duty man him give up the girl he loved to the man who saved his life who also fell in love with her. in this movie he becomes a drunk because his father slapped him when he turned 21. In the book Li is a man who will do anything he can for a friend his greatest strength and greatest downfall. In this movie Li is a self centered cowardly piece of crap. Do not buy this movie please if you want a great wuxia adventure go to wuxiapedia.com and read the book.

a vast disappointment

Warning: Spoilers
This film based on an old Chinese tale is so very boring that it felt like it went on for days. Basic story is a drunkard marries a woman, his father hates him for being a lush, goes to the local bar to slap sense into him. The drunkard then wants to go work for his dead and somehow gets amnesia. I'm falling asleep just writing about this film. Just might be the worst Chinese film i saw thus far. Bad acting, yawn-inducing 'action', extremely mediocre plot, I implore you, if you value your sanity at all avoid this film. It might be a good cure for insomnia, but entertainment value is nonexistent.

My Grade: F

Lee's tranquil life with his lovely wife was shattered when he lost his memory after an attack. As Lee vows to revenge those responsible for his misery, a shocking revelation forces Lee to find out what really happened before his amnesia."
