Excellent drama showcasing Jill Kelly
lor_25 August 2017
I recently discovered the talented Adult filmmaking team of Teri Diver and Tom Elliott, who made a near-classic supernatural feature "Moondance" over 2 decades ago. "Persona" is almost as good, and well worth resurrecting.

Jill Kelly is magnificent as a disturbed woman, seeing shrink Herschel Savage to deal with her recurrent blackouts. Beginning with a terrific opening sequence of Jill going to her makeup mirror to don a dark wig (with a great shot of a line of 27 wigs on busts suggesting an infinite amount) and take on a different personality, the tale is engrossing and arousing.

Without spoiling the secret of her mental problem, the film is fleshed out by black & white (sepia tinted) flashbacks concerning her mother played by Sharon Kane, excellent casting for just enough resemblance to be credible. Story leads inevitably to a climax of shrink Herschel ending up treating her malady with a "hands on approach" and a satisfying open ending.

One strong scene of Jill wearing a red wig and fetish-gear (wielding a riding crop) has a three-way involving equally busty blondes Julie Rage and Erica Lockett, with Frank Towers as the lucky submissive client. Jill delivers d.p. action herself, including a three-way with Peter North and Eric Price. North coincidentally starred in another Adult movie titled "Persona" released one year earlier. I like to think that porno film buffs behind the camera chose this title in honor of Ingmar Bergman's all-time great movie with that name starring Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann, and who's to say I'm wrong?
