"Dinner für Brot" or "Dinner for Bread" is a German 16-minute short film from almost 15 years ago that spoofs the famous comedy sketch "Dinner for One". The main character here is "Bernd das Brot" / "Bernd the Bread", a fairly famous comedy character here in Germany that is not only appreciated by children. It is a very special brand of comedy though and I am not sure if you will like it, maybe slightly similar in style to Spongebob Squarepants. I personally do not find him funny really. Then again I am not too interested in the famous sketch either, which is probably the main reason why I could not enjoy this one here. Anyway, it's nice to see Krappweis and Schumann collaborate again as I liked both a lot on "RTL Samstag Nacht". But their material here is nowhere near their material on that show. "Dinner for Bread" was not funny and is, even at this running time, really repetitive with the constant jokes about the Bread's broken English. I do not recommend the watch. Thumbs down.
