The picture is new and very acceptable

An elaborate and very well-made romantic picture which the spectators seemed to like. When the Edison starts out to do a thing like this, it usually finishes the picture properly and seemingly regardless of expense. It is so in this case. The idea might have come from a serial of a couple of years ago in "The Ladies' Home Journal," called "Princess Virginia," but the filling-in is different and the picture is new and very acceptable. The work of Mr. Mark MacDermott, as the old king, father of the heir apparent, is fine; it is quite the best thing in a very well-acted and well-conducted picture. As a whole, the picture is very successful in creating a romantic impression, and from the exhibitor's viewpoint is an unusually desirable feature picture. - The Moving Picture World, March 23, 1912
