The most romantic Percy to date, bar none!!!!!
Looks like I'm talking to myself here, but Anton Rogers was just wonderful as the Pimpernel, and Diane Fletcher as Lady Blakeney had none of the irritating qualities - a kind of smugness seeming almost de rigueur - that have seemed to attach to every other performance of Marguerite I've seen. In fact the whole cast were splendid, with Bernard Hepton a particularly disagreeable, sinister Chauvelin.
I guess that I'll never get to see it again, what with so many versions having been made since - they just aren't as good...
of course if anyone knows of a way to access B(efore) V(ideo) footage...
