Contractor Danneberg made many enemies in Wismar business circles by filing for bankruptcy after wrecking a development project by fraud for home building subsidies, including Reuther's buddy and former explosives disposal expert Karsten Dill's family construction firm. Jonas' partner expects uncommitted Kilian's child, Jonas ignored so.

Police chief Reuter noticed him in own hall for a celebration of tycoon Friedemann Romberg. The victim is re-identified as a recently released former kidnapper of Romberg years, most of the ransom was never recuperated. The team looks into how the drowning and old crime tie together, Romberg being suspected of the accidental death of another kidnapper, but also people from the local catering service suspiciously active on the fatal day and night.

Member Klaus Schlappke, his former colleague, points to Jasmin Reeker, with whom Thomas cheated on wife Henrike Norden, who claims she knew and it was long over. A publican saw Norden fight with jasmine that evening, and his drinking wasn't under control despite Henrike's claim, according to his blood autopsy.
