Warning: Spoilers
This came out back in 2004 and I just came across it online. Never heard of it before, but I watched it knowing it was going to be bad. It sure was bad, but it was watchable. It had some pretty bloody scenes though since the three female vamps eat their victims afterwards. One of the vamps even has teeth underneath her and feeds during sex. The acting from the four main women was atleast decent and they were seductive. The rest of the cast was pretty bad. However I did like the masseuse parlour set design. This just had to been one of those cheesy direct to video releases and sort of had Abdul moon feature vibe to it.

This isn't worth your time

Sista Vampires (2004) is currently available on Tubi. The storyline follows a detective who is assigned to a recent string of serial killings and also has a wife that is cheating on him. His cheating wife gets mixed up with vampires posing as masseuses. Can the detective knock out two birds with one stone and save his marriage and also solve the case? This movie is written and directed by Steve Lustgarten (Power Slide) and stars Richard Azurdia (Weeds), Emayatzy Corinealdi (Roots), Erin Frigo (Death of an Innocent Man) and Rick Irvin (Days of our Lives). The storyline for this is absolutely crazy . The cinematography and acting is terrible. It has a zero budget feel to it, unfortunately. There are some good gore sequences and sex scenes, but not to make it worthwhile. This is one of those movies that's hard to tell it's potential based on its execution. This isn't worth your time and I'd score it a 2/10.

Could This Have Been Worse? Er, No!

This is a dismal excuse for a horror movie and it doesnt even make sense. BTW the version I saw was calle "Sista Vampires."

Some female "vampires" are roaming the bad section of town looking for easy marks. The police get on their tails and they decide to take their habits indoors by opening up a massage parlor for men.

The acting is simply horrible. The dialog is moronic and the direction is really amateurish.

Further, the entire movie is very dark so you dont even knkow what you're watching half the time.

And then there's the whole "vampire" thing. These chicks are more like cannibals than vampires. They kill a dude and then they eat him. ALL of him. Down to the bones. What kind of vampire does that?

You won't regret not watching this movie.

Pretty good for a no-budget vampire movie

Vampz is a low-budget horror movie that focuses on three female vampires. They start a massage parlor business to lure men into their lair so they can eat them. They have a human male who helps them out with errands that need to be done in the daylight. In return, he is hoping to be made a vampire himself. A subplot develops when a cop catches his wife cheating and she runs away from home. She ends up staying with the vampires and is given the choice to join them or be eaten.

Although it appears to have been done on an extremely low budget, there were moments I thought this movie really did well. The script has some weak moment as far as dialog, but is pretty well thought out for a low-budget horror movie. I liked how the characters cross paths and their stories intertwine. The final confrontation when the cop fights off all three vampires with his bare hands was also resourcefully done, although the special effects are distracting. I was a little dissatisfied with the ending--I didn't understand how everything turned out the way it did. Still, an entertaining watch for fans of low-budget sleaze.

power slide

Warning: Spoilers
It's strange that Steve Lustgarten, the director, his flick Power Slide isn't available on IMDb. So I had to do it this way. Sure, Power Slide is out on VHS but Belgium used to have a label called EmporiumMovies that were known to bring out hard to get flicks on DVD as a VHS rip. That's easy to spot because you can see the typical VHS faults.

As soon as they came out whit their label the sooner they vanished from earth and no those DVD's are only to find by collectors at flea markets. Was it worth the search? Yes and no. Yes, because there's was action going on and no because it didn't deliver anything new and looked like those old exploitation flicks.

The story itself was rather simple. When Kyle Lockwood returns after years to his home town he soon learns that the local mob has the town in hands like a vice grip. When he learns that one of his friends vanished he's sure he's being killed, but cops are corrupt too so it's up to Kyle to do some research.

It do has a few shoot outs but nothing is shown on-camera. It's a bit tame on the red stuff but somehow I kept watching due the story itself. Only for the buffs of old school drive-in flicks with old school cars from the seventies.
