Solid marital drama from Brad/Wicked
lor_20 June 2020
After a few overblown Brad Armstrong productions for Wicked, it's always nice to revisit a well-crafted "little film" of his, made with less fanfare but upretentiously satisfying.

Sydnee Steele stars and narrates in wistful voice-over, with the title giving away the central plot/genre: incest.

Predating by over a decade the current mania for incest movies, it does share the modern "fauxcest" stress on not depicting blood relations going at it.

Questionable casting by Brad has himself as Sydnee's college kid stepson, with Mike Horner quite unsympathetic cast as Brad's dad (only 10 years older than Brad in real life; also, Brad a college kid here at real age 35).

Movie opens with the Horner/Steele marriage, Brad as best man. Story picks up four years later with Horner a philanderer, having an affair with his secretary (a nice role for the wonderful Brit import Flick Shagwell).

Given the hundreds (nay, thousands) of recent family "role-play" (means incest) movies, what follows is quite predictable but well-directed by Brad. Steele keeps fighting with Mike, well aware of his cheating, and her BFF Asia Carrera suggests she indulge in some tit for tat: cue the hot Sapphic sex scene of Asia seducing Syd.

Brad humps his sultry girlfriend Aria, but she dumps him angrily when she catches him cozying up to mommy. Asia also gets some more lovin' with Brad's buddy Ian Daniels.

Screenplay keeps the tease going strong en route to the inevitable Brad/Sydnee bed scene, and yet plenty of "caught in the act" plot twists.

Highly professional moviemaking with a strong cast.
