This was Donovan Marsh at his Supreme best. Undertaking a story of an underdog real life character. It is not a masterpiece per se but one can indulge in their past time.

The script was not what it could have been, but great dialogue and awesome directing and a very cool look into Cape Flats underworld makes this a hugely entertaining film to watch. This was a film made on a shoestring budget (less that half a million dollars), so it's great to see what can be done with nothing. Really liked the opening sequence - it's quite unique, though I am sure Robert Mckee might pop a vein at repetitive use of voice over and montage... luckily good directing makes these sequences work, and a very cool performance by the lead keeps you glued. Nice to learn about other worlds outside of America. See it if you can.
