- TriviaContinuity: Although Herr Flick and Herr von Smallhausen have their glasses smashed on the floor in the previous episode, if you look close they have apparently picked up the broken glasses and are now using them. You can see one lens in Herr Flick's glasses is missing in the other is cracked. It has been previously reported this was a continuity mistake, but there is no continuity mistake here since the glasses are shown as being broken.
- GoofsThe song "The Happy Wanderer" by Friedrich-Wilhelm Möller and Antonia Ridge that's performed by Carmen Silvera and Gorden Kaye in this episode, was actually written a few years after World War II.

Great episode.
René and Madame Edith are on their way to England, when they get there, they find an old friend waiting to greet them.
I really did enjoy this, it had a degree of originality, it must have been so hard to keep on coming up work fresh ideas, and not repeating things.
Earlier on in this series, I had moaned that it was feeling a little repetitive, I take that back here, into its seventh series, and still able to pull of a few surprises, this has been the best episode for a little while.
I always love seeing Madame Fanny in charge at The Cafe, she's such a tyrant, her singing was quite something. I absolutely loved the yodelling scene, that was wonderful.
Great to see René and Edith in England. Nice to see a young Harriet Thorpe, good here as Ethel. Wonderful to see the old friend back too.
Excellent, 9/10.
