The Bridge
Prismark1018 August 2021
I thought I kept hearing the village of Pontefract. Which made me wonder how did Brian venture so far on his own.

King Marhaus heads a neighbouring kingdom. He eyes up the village of Poltifax which is over a small bridge.

A treaty means that as long as the villagers maintain and use the bridge. Marhaus cannot lay claim to it.

Marhaus plans to break the treaty. Brian sees Marhaus's men bullying the Poltifax villagers and reports it to King Arthur.

Lancelot is sent to investigate as he is sweet with Lady Angela, who is Marhaus's sister.

Not the best episode of Lancelot. That was one hell of a small bridge. The Politfax villagers are a superstitious lot. At one point they think the bridge is cursed when they see a raven put there by one of Marhaus's cronies.

Even Lady Angela cannot believe that her brother would do anything dastardly. When everyone associated with him is behaving suspiciously. Her brother even engineers her kidnap so he could blame the Poltifax villagers.

The worst bridge storming scene you'll ever see.
Sleepin_Dragon26 June 2023
King Marhaus of neighbouring village Mercia tries to take control of a bridge that link his village with Poltifax, a small village on the other side. An ancient treaty stops any one power having control of it, Marhaus tries several dastardly techniques.

Ouch, what a clunker of a story, I was going to credit it for being quite nice visually, and for featuring a pretty good cast, including the fiendishly voiced Jack May, and the wonderful Zena Walker, those are the good points, the story though is shocking.

None of it makes any sense, you'd have thought anyone with a bit of oomph could have jumped over that river, or at least have ensured some sort of dam further up.

The fight scene is to be seen to be believed, how they all managed to keep straight faces whilst charging through the two foot long bridge is beyond me.

Did Srcoggins fluff a few lines early on, or have a few words been cut out, not sure.

I don't know what I was hearing half the time, Pontefract, Pontyfrax.... Poltifax seemed to change names in every scene.

This was a chore sadly.

4/10.
