A young woman is raped and strangled just down the street and no one in the vicinity saw anything. So brave people who refuse to testify. Baretta is on the case and happens to take care of a missionary girl who was raped too but succeeded in escaping the murderer. An escapee witness for the rapist, but not the only one. There is a young deaf mute homeless man who desperately tried to save her against the rapist and who is also a witness, but only for the assassin's shoes which he saw whilst struggling with him. Taut and exciting story which I highly recommend, where the suspense will glue you to your coach. I don't know the director, never heard of him.
